Spiritual: I pray without ceasing...seriously...I don't quantify it and I don't have a set "quiet time". I study Scripture on my days off, and share my faith at work when appropriate opportunities arise.

Rational Male, Preventative Medicine p.175: "If frame is the dominant narrative of a relationship, your mental point of origin is the import and priority to which you give to the people or ideas involved in that relationship. It is the first thought you have when considering any particular of a relationship...our first survival instinct is to naturally put ourselves as our mental point of origin. Only later, with parenting and learning socal skills do we begin to share, cooperate, empathize and sympathize as our mental point of origin shifts to putting the concerns of others before our own."

Compare that with...

Philippians 2: 3-5 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

Is making yourself your mental point of origin considered selfish ambition? Is counting others (your wife) more significant than yourself the same as making her your mental point of origin? Is counting others more significant than self the same as "putting the concerns of others before your own"?

How can a Christian follow this advice in light of Philippians 2?

I see that the text says "also to the interest of others" assuming you will look to your own interests first. Would that be how you explain mental point of origin to someone who would disagree with Rollo's iron rule of frame?
