“issues most Blue Pill men struggle with in their own unplugging; unlearning the deeply embedded idea that his wellbeing must always come after that of women’s.” - Rollo Tomassi (from Rational Male: Positive Masculinity)
How does one reconcile these two ideas? Are they contracting? Putting yourself first is one of the RP mantras, but the Bible discourages this. How do we as men not put the wife’s needs ahead of our own, when I’m supposed to “esteem her better than myself”?
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” Philippians 2:3-5
