"Why aren't you married?" The women of my era aren't like the women of your era

I was having dinner with one of my clients, an 81 year old woman in the twilight of her life whose husband of 50 years just recently passed. When the question of marriage came up. I usually just dodge the question with "I just haven't found the right one." and they drop it, but i told her bluntly "The women of my era aren't like the women of your era." and without a second question as to why or any insight she just slowly nodded in agreement.

Yesterday I was reading an article with this headline "We done told y'all before, black women don't owe men a hello" The article highlighted that April 12th through 19th was National Street Harassment Awareness Week. I always asked myself, if it were Brad Pitt would it be labelled street harrassment?

While thousands of media outlets have painted this as a racial issue between black men and the police, not one will touch the issue of why he ran in the first place. Today I read an article "South Carolina Republican asks people not to vote for Hillary Clinton in his obituary " The tagline used in the article "Here's.a man more consumed by HATE than anyone I've ever seen. good riddance." I read his obituary and right at the very bottom it says the family asks that you not vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016.Top comment on the article" where's his grave so i can go piss on it" 2nd comment "He's burning in hell and can't figure out why" when asked why he's burning in hell "Because he's a republican." Where's the human decency in these comments and whose really consumed with hate?

I speak to woman it's street harassment, i marry or have kids with woman, i may potentially lose everything i worked for and human deceny is gone. But I don't have to explain or reason any of this to this 81 year old woman, she knows, she nods as we finish our dinner.
