Successful people on here, what should I major in?

Well, if you’re interested in Finance and Math, then the finance industry would be fun for you while very lucrative - one of the following combinations of majors (double major) would work great:

Finance / Math
Finance / Economics
Economics / Math

You can easily find a job in Private Equity / VC, Hedge Fund - and investors make a lot of money.

If you prefer not to be building and analyzing models all day, you could go the Management Consulting route - typically grooming you for an MBA, and eventually BizOps management / Strategy. Tech companies love this combination, and pay good money for a good BizOps Manager / Strategy Leader - typically leads to a good C-Suite route if navigated correctly, and most importantly ambitiously.

Another idea is to jump into a double major of Math / Computer Science and head towards the computer programming route. . You can start out as an early employee at a startup, and negotiate a good equity package. If it does good, could be a good payout after 4 years and you can then start your own investment fund while managing others’ funds.

A lot of options. . Wish you well!

Finance is a booring +very workful

CS is overcrowded. Programmers will be the next "worker" generation.

I did CS and finance back in 1979 arround (later mechanical eng and electr eng) but today i'd go for genetics / microbiology in combination with AI in some extra time.

Finance can be learned.

You need to know the goal.

You want to invent? Lead/build? Just work? Be employee or entrepreneur? Build a big company? A small specialist? A freelancer? All this sets different routes.

Anything that make big bucks and the one that you enjoy the most.

A day job is the most inefficient to earn money, as you're selling your time for it.

But it is a good foundation for you to get experience and money while you figure where you want to go in life.
