Also, I went through your post history and I’m not judging nor trying to attack you brother. I’m honestly trying to help you and forgive me if my words come out wrong.

But I think there are some deeper issues you need to take care of before diving into red pill/blue pill theories/realities. I think you’ve got many real questions that need real answers.

For one, what does your relationship with God look like?

I’m honestly not sure if you’re saved. If you have doubts, doubts are normal. But just because you read the Bible and attend church doesn’t mean you’re saved. Salvation is gifted from submitting to God and repenting knowing you’re a mess and admitting you need God. Don’t repent to appeal to anyone or to be validated by people including parents or church leaders or women.

Having a real concrete foundation in Christ will quell the doubts because your Faith will grow and the Holy Spirit will allow you to know God personally.

That foundation in Christ will also TELL you WHO YOU ARE and solve your identity crisis. You will be delivered from depression as feelings are fickle and are no match for who God wants you to become.

MAKE GOD LARGER THAN YOUR PROBLEMS. Some people put God into a little box. That little box creates barriers for YOUR REQUESTS because you simply lack the Faith to allow God to move in your life.

If you don’t know what Faith is or how it works or if you have it. Simply, let go of your logical mind and take a leap into the unknown. Give your last piece of money to someone else in need. You’ll find out very quickly where your help comes from because it really does come from thin air sometimes. You are living by sight not by faith. And that is not good.

I agreed up until you said "let go of your logical mind." God's existence is logical and rational. There is a tendency in Christian circles today to relinquish the realm of logic to the secular world and let our feelings guide us. That is not a masculine approach to faith, that is a feminine one. We men are guided by our rationality far more than our feelings. For women, it makes more sense to let their feelings guide them. For men, a cool rationality is generally better. It is entirely rational to believe that for all of creation to exist, there had to be a creator. If you believe in God, your faith does not lie in His existence, but rather in His promises, because we know that He exists. We take a great leap of faith by trusting in Christ for salvation rather than our own deeds. We are willing to part with our last piece of money, not because we believe that we will be repaid in this life, but rather because we have faith in our rewards in the next. Godliness should not be practiced for material gain, but rather for the eternal spiritual gain. I caution you against the "feel-good" Christianity that tells you to abandon rationality and practicality in a misguided belief that your earthly life will see more prosperity. The Bible is full of righteous, godly men that saw nothing but hardship in their lives in service to the Lord. But rest assured that they will see the rewards for their faith in the next life.

Please. God, Source Energy, whatever you want to call it—you have a mind, use it. Life all around us compels is to think, evaluate, and make a choice. Emotionally, we have a limbic system that quivers and let’s us know when something dodn’t feel quite right here. Many love to cite a Pauline punctiliar conversion experience yet the major players of the gospels clearly show a 3-year gradual process towards “converting” as it were. Are you “saved”? Come on. What is that! That’s fear mongering. Are we really saying we have to turn in a theological Rubik’s cube at the end of days and “oh, I’m sorry, you didn’t get all of the yellow side. Bye, now.” Would I even think of following a deity like this? No. I, like an Abraham or a Socrates would protest my innocence and ask how my purported impiety of doubt infringes upon the sovereignty of a divine being with limitless insight. I could never be a follower of that. Was Myles? For goodness sake, people didn’t even have a written “word” for ages. Why? Because the living Word didn’t become book—that’s Islam. Use your mind, find the space between thoughts, in that space, find a clam if you can. You are more connected than you are cut off. Geez I don’t miss this stuff. Happy to blather on if you’d like. I have all the cemetery education degrees in all the areas that will never make it to a pulpit. Never downplay happiness.

It would have been more proper for you to put this kind of comment under my OYS post instead of here. I only commented what I thought of the video. It was my honest impression of it.

I never once in my entire life felt secure in being saved just because I read the bible, pray once a day and have gone to church.

Everyone has there own cross to bear. Faith in Christ only promises reward in the life after this one. Really that should be enough, but human beings including myself let emotions, troubles and other things of this world drag us down.

It's true God is larger than my problems, your problems or the entire world's problems, but life in Christ is hard. I lack no faith of what God can do. It's what God does that I struggle with at times.

I don't believe in testing the Lord by intentionally putting myself into a position where I need his help. Christians are meant to be good stewards of what they are given. Part of that is giving to the needy and part of that is reasonably taking care of you, your family and whoever else you have decided to be responsible for. I believe living by faith instead of sight means you trust God to be there when you fall or the unexpected happens.

I rarely look at OYS posts. I wasn’t trying to assume your position.

We go through trials and tests of faith. I believe people do receive miraculous healing and deliverance if that’s what God decides is needed to make a person believe.

I, for example, was not saved by my own merit or want. God gave me a revelation about my life and my state of belief. Without that I would’ve never known Him personally.

Why struggle with what God does? It’s usually ourselves that get us in trouble in the first place. God doesn’t cause situations but he does allow them to happen to mold you and your character. Every trial has its purpose and is necessary for growth. You should be glad in knowing that things aren’t permanent and when troubles do come there is a treasure to find.

Personally, I look forward to the valleys. They’re not as “happy” as the mountains of life but they’re great in teaching you lessons. It’s an opportunity to grow. Learn some new perspectives in life.
