I've noticed a trend in online dating profiles of hagridden looking single mothers with requests of

"Looking for my one and only"

"Looking for my prince charming"

"Are there nobody out there who want a fairy tale happily ever after?"

"I want the fairy tale, but I'm losing hope..."

Basically, they want the tall dashing prince with a stable job, fatherly personality, and financial resources to rescue them from their life. It's really quite comical, and appears pretty much satirical. How could they not realize the hilarity of their wishes? They really do imagine themselves as princesses. What's more, it's normal and socially acceptable for them to have these delusions!

Could you imagine a classic Disney movie where the princess is a 32 year old mother of two and has had casual sex with over twenty men in her life?

Now, if you flip this around and a normal decent looking man without any baggage wished to date a woman like a Disney princess, he'd get laughed at, called sexist, or made fun of ("Her sexuality scares you loser??")

A lovely little double standard, don't you think?
