I don't know how or when this got tendy but i noticed it's a popular meme now to call people simps and to preach on how not to be a simp. even women are using the word orbiter all of a sudden.

This is primarily in the 18-23 crowd though. Why did this catch on so suddenly? It's kind of annoying because they are all very much blue pilled still

Simp is a 30+ year old term. Anyone who isn’t the main demographic of TRP knows this.

Edit: This is a term that has been used throughout the black community for generations. It wasn’t until the use of it in the song by Three 6 Mafia - Sippin On Some Syrup that other people (read: white people) starting using it for anything other than the meaning “simpleton”

Espscially Teenagers pick up words and slang pretty quickly. They mostly don't even associate a deeper meaning with a term. Although they know what it means, they don't internalize the deeper meaning.

It's like a 17 year old saying "what are thoooooose?!" to a classmate about his or her shoes. It was a pretty popular meme two or three years ago. Doesn't mean this particular teenager hates those shoes - it only means that he's making use of the meme to show his peers that he is in on it. Peer pressure in some cases.
