My sister (14), had a suicide attempt today. Wasn’t fatal and injuries as of now, but still in the hospital. This is your 2nd one in 6 months and much bolder.

I’ve seen and helped a friend before get through a thought batch, but I’m at a lost at how to handle it with my sister.

I hung out with her for 4 hours yesterday and seemed happy and was normal.

Update:I was able to get in her phone while she was in mental stabilization. A year ago her saved social media posts consisted of clothes and crafts. 6 months ago shows a progressive change where her saved posts started with depression and adhd all the way to self harm and suicide for the last month.

TikTok is evil, because as she interacted more with these posts that glorify bdp behaviors, self harm and even suicide, they would push that content more and more. Covid hit and her best friend had a fight at the same time, and then seeing all her depressing content all day destroyed her 14 year brain. Social media is a disease.
