What I bring- job with good income, car, flat. I cook, bake, do basic sewing. I am sensitive love cuddling, holidays and romance so I try to always think about occasions and I bring lots of affection.
My partner - has a good paying job, cleans the house, is the logical component in our relationship and remembers about chores and obligations.
I am the main cook and driver. He is the main cleaner and takes care of finances.

Things we both have: fit, sane, require the same amount of alone time / together time, contribute to the housework equally. Same level of physhical attractiveness and intelligence I'd say. We do stuff for each other equally (like picking up something for one another or helping each other with a cover letter of whatever).

Things that are different: he makes (way) more money, I'm a decade younger, I'll give birth to our child, I give more physical attention (massages and stuff) because he needs more. He decides where we live and kinda how we live due to his line of work, I have no say in that, but he also carries more responsibility. I don't do certain stuff (clubbing, hanging out with guys) for him that I don't mind him doing.

I bring: emotional stability and support, a high level of respect, strong finances, enthusiasm and variety in bed, a refreshing and unique perspective (his words, not mine), proactivity in planning fun activities, smarts, kindness, generosity with acts of service, good communication skills. Most of our relationship hiccups have been resolved from me initiating the hard conversations.

He brings: strong empathy and listening skills, emotional support, high level of respect, strong finances, generosity and skill in bed, smarts, a soft gentleness that I'm absolutely obsessed with, adoration, understanding, a well-controlled ego. Anytime I've had to bring something up, he's never once dismissed my feelings or implied I was anything but reasonable. Instead he's risen to the occasion to listen, change and be better.

He tends to struggle with mental health stuff more severely than I do, though I'd say we both do equal amounts of emotional supporting. We're both similar in age and attractiveness, same educational background and income bracket. I take care of myself a bit better than he does. Since I plan dates more often, he pays more. I'm more proactive but he'll do anything I ask him to.

- Being a shoulder to cry on, and providing comfort, compassion and reassurance when he's struggling.
- Not expect him to be perfect, or hold him to unrealistic standards.
- Respect his romantic / sexual past and history - value his past as a part of what made him the man I love.
- Making effort with befriending his family and friends and respecting his social group.
- Respect his need for space and give him privacy when he wishes for it.
- Split everything 50/50 in terms of finances, and do everything in my power to ensure the relationship is fair.
- Pretty much as much, and as varied sex as he wants / as I'm physically capable of giving him.
- Loyalty.
- Honesty.
- To be his nurse and take care of him if he gets ill or sick. Also take care of him in his old age.
- Take fair criticism in good humor and make effort to be a good partner for him.

He brings me exactly the same, which is probably why we're together and have a strong relationship.

- Are there things that only one of you do? Or something that one is that much better than the other, that it's become only their responsibility?

He's an amazing cook and actively enjoys cooking, while I'm an average cook and don't enjoy cooking, so he does most of the cooking if we're going to be eating the same thing on a given day.

I do 100% of the laundry. He dislikes doing it while I actually like doing it.
I am responsible for cleaning the bathroom. He cleans the kitchen.
We share duties like tidying the rooms, taking the trash out and washing the dishes.
We do grocery shopping together.

We've been together for nearly 20 years so we've supported each other through illnesses, long-distances, hard times and good. We're been at each other's bedside in the hospitals and meet each other at the airport after trips. All the good stuff.

Stuff only one person does: I am better as social stuff and thinking on my feet, and they're better at organization and paperwork. So I'm our primary "boots on the ground" and he's our primary "man behind a desk"; he plans out what we need then sends me into the world to get it for us. I do a lot of preliminary social screening to find new social groups for us to get to know, and he helps bankroll our adventures (he has a better paying job.)

As a straight woman, I guess he should bring more masculinity and I should bring femininity. I'm speaking in terms of mannerisms, dress style, certain behaviors. Other than that it just depends on the individual people. For me, I don't bring much beyond a thin body, youth and pretty good looks. My issues with personality are what keeps me from dating because I don't feel like I deserve a guy when I can't bring much other than superficial aspects into it. For him, I guess I'd want him to be at least as intelligent s me and share similar sense of humor. Also not be really skinny or overweight.
