Tune into BBC News Hour tonight.... special guest - Red Pill School!

In case you didn't notice, it appears we're making some waves across the femosphere (lol), and it's starting to get attention.

I've been asked to radio interview today on BBC News Hour tonight.

The interview will be prerecorded so I hope they don't edit me out of context, but anything's possible.

I certainly didn't see us here a few months ago, but here we are, and it's time to jam.

Edit: So just finished the recording, and eh.. we'll see how it sounds.

Hi-jacking the top comment...

Is anyone listening to the Radio right now?? The show leading up to Redpillschool's interview is all about women's rights in muslim countries...

Are we being set up by BBC?? All they're talking about is how women need to be a part of everything.

I'm concerned about the purpose of these two programs being back to back.

Perhaps its just a compare and contrast.... But I don't know about BBC's political motivations

Now they're talking about all women's groups... We are really gonna ruffle some feathers now

Someone record please as I, and many others most likely, won't be able to listen to it live.

Looking forward to the link.

This subreddit has 2700 subs.

Your account is 2 months old.

Dafuq is happening?

The FVF must've been very successful as a marketing stunt.

The wonders of good marketing.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how in-depth is your plan about all of this?

You're sure as hell not thinking things up as you go along.

Compared to the rest of the manosphere you seem to be the only one with a concrete ambition, a set goal, and the skills to do it.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

This is the combination of good planning, and good timing. We haven't even scratched the surface yet.

[–]TRP Vanguardtheubercuber0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

The FVF actually hasn't impacted membership. We've been growing steadily the past two months.

I can confirm access to the current live broadcast from the states. It also seems to be available internationally.

For those in North America, you should be able to tune in live from the link provided at 5:05/4:05 Central.

Edit: Live now

Edit2: Coverage of the Richards story and the FVF begins about 45 minutes into the broadcast. Our own "Morpheus Manfred" holds his own.

...a racist, sexist geek culture...

Fucking pathetic

[–]CokedUpArmenian5 points6 points  (5 children) | Copy

there was really no substance in the entire piece.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 2 points3 points  (4 children) | Copy

They actually edited out my entire point.

[–]CokedUpArmenian1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

oh alright then. I was like, what, I waited an hour and a half for this?

[–]ycombinator 2 points2 points [recovered] | Copy

They actually edited out my entire point.

Did you record the conversation?

When being interviewed, especially by a media outlet as goofy as The BBC, you should always record everything yourself. That way if they edit your words to either make you look incompetent, racist or simply off point - then you can always put the un-edited version online and call them out for not being objective or for having an agenda.

Even people who are very blue pill might be persuaded to see things differently if they feel what they were presented with the first time was big media propaganda.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Now hold on a minute, we can't even discuss race here! ;)

Fucking Beeb man.

If I can make one humble suggestion, don't simply regurgitate a hate for feminism.

Make one or two strong points. For example, if feminism is about women being equal, then why is it that (for example), men are required to be more sensitive to women's feelings regarding certain jokes?

And be honest that the red pill is NOT about turning back feminism. It's about living with feminism (which is the coddling of women and the emasculation of men.)

[–]GeorgeGordonByron3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

you need a debate camp. you need to prepare every possible question and have an answer ready for every one of them. then, have an answer for every follow up. you need to run mock interviews where a friend plays the interviewer and tries to bait you into an argument.

If you're not ready you will get sandbagged.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (5 children) | Copy

That was good, but there were some inherent biases that came across. The newscaster gave much more time to the feminist to speak her argument to defend Adria Richards. Also, right from the getgo, the newscaster also (while trying to be as neutral and objective as possible), did not even attempt to see RPS' perspective. I'm paraphrasing here, but I think as soon as RPS came on, he asked "but isn't making inappropriate jokes inappropriate as it is?" thereby implying that it was the man who was responsible.

The feminist also made unsubstantiated claims such as "geek culture/the tech world is inherently sexist and biased against women." I think her only citation in favour of that claim was saying that only 20% of attendees at PyCon were women.

I wish RPS could have gotten as much time as the feminist to speak his point to have a more balanced perspective.

At the same time, I believe RPS could have had different talking points to have made our perspective be more substantial (such as pointing out the errors in her claims).

I do not think this will radio show will do anything substantial for the MRA or Redpill movement (sadly).

For those wanting to listen to the show, tune to the last 5-7 mins. This was a closing story.

I had a lot of awesome points. They actually cut them out. They glued my sentences together.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy

Ah that sucks! My apologies to you for implying otherwise good sir!

Any way we can hear the true unedited version?

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy

I'm sorting through- I had recorded it on my laptop (using skype). It appears sound recorder was not getting the full mix. I may post a transcript of my side in a bit.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

I thought that when I was listening to it.

I honestly wonder who was responsible for it, who gave the work to the sound-editor?

"So, if you could edit out this, this, this and glue this, this, and this together... that'd be great".

I'd call them a cunt, but they lack the depth and the warmth.

This is why live debates don't work nearly as well as an online format. It becomes more of a "who can throw their weight around" competition, and this is why fact checking is a must for any debate as well.

[–]freewanderer3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy

Congrats mate, this is excellent stuff!

Is this where we can listen to it online?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

Is anyone willing to record it for us less fortunate ones who live in other time zones?

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy

I think there will be a copy online afterwards

[–]TheRationalMale.comRollo-Tomassi5 points6 points  (2 children) | Copy

I am monitoring this thread

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy

Thanks Rollo- it's on right now.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Can't wait to listen to this!

[–]zionController2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Did they say if it was bbc radio 5, or bbc radio 1, or specify a station?

Edit: Never mind, news hour, found it.

[–]AlwaysLateToThreads2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

You're my hero.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy

Just finished listening. That seemed much, much shorter than I wanted. God damn BBC.

I'm also unbelievably pissed that they used the example of a guy, that was offended by his own sex, and no one got pissed at him. Not to mention there was no context about what was offensive about whatever it was he reported. If it was about a sexist joke, guy's probably a white-knight.

Good job. Big respect for doing that, just wish you had a chance to give more examples.

So, was it as you recorded it, how much was it edited?

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 6 points7 points  (2 children) | Copy

Incredibly edited. Missed most of my point.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

Gah! The Goddamned Media, eh? Forging public opinion like a boss.

I am torn up inside with rage, my friend. How do you feel about it?

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

I'm not happy about it, but I'm not surprised.

The content of the show wasn't that important. Getting on BBC News Hour is a meter stick that shows us just how big the waves we're making are.

We march on-wards.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (5 children) | Copy

Sorry to say that, but she out-demagogued you here. You shouldn't have repeated yourself without escalating.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 4 points5 points  (4 children) | Copy

I'm afraid they gave my answers out of context.

I don't. I thought I did.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

It sounded like it, you seemed to have too much initial momentum not to say anything really specific. Well, what can one do, at least they got your alias right.

[–]16 MGaiusScaevolus2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Sounds like they edited it pretty heavily. Nice job RPS

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Must hear this!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

I'm British, and have the opportunity to listen to this; what time is it?

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

[–]shute1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Damn man, i'm offline for what three weeks and you've damn near taken Red pill global?

very impressed, will have to make time to hear the link, anyone got the audio?
