"Let's all major in a worthless degree so we can use it to reee about how there aren't enough women in STEM!"
"...You do realize you could have majored in STEM, right?"
"Ah but I'm not really interested in STEM at all."

The few women who have STEM jobs I know think SJWs are lazy and pathetic.
[–]LB-Quasar127 points128 points129 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
same. I remember an interaction one of my female friends in a science major (not specifying since the number of students per year are so small, confidentiality) had with another female student that was in liberal arts. I was in the same elevator as them, we were going to a convention of sorts hosted by alot of different majors, so the question of "what do you do" is quite relevant.
Liberal arts girl: "Wow you study in that degree? must be tough. I'm sure you have to deal with alot of sexi-"
Female friend: "There isnt any sexism in my major, I've learned that its just too much hard work for ((some women)) that just want everything handed to them".
I just kinda... stared at her for a bit before giving a slight nod with the *damn your good* face.
[–]CrimsonAres48 points49 points50 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
I hate that. Women like that give other women in liberal arts a VERY bad name. I'm getting a fine arts degree and hearing all the liberal opinions and hearing how terrible conservatives are makes me not wanna be around anyone.

I did a law degree. Found it highly amusing how many women graduated then never got past secretary or paralegal because they couldn't pass the bar admission exam.
University exams tests ability to remember raw facts from a textbook. The bar admission exam tests actual original thought.

Three feminists walk into a bar.
Of course none of them saw it.
[–]8017355 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Three bars "walk" into a feminist... every day. She claims it's empowering and makes her feel loved and yadayada. She commits suicide when she reaches 30 and realizes it's over for her.
[–]molarcat0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is funny because I'm a prof. Out of 20 students there were 5 men. Who insisted on special accommodations to take the exam early? Only two men. 👍
[–][deleted] 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Lol preach to the choir about it.
A lot of people have been burned by liberal arts colleges and universities with such programs.
It's such a widespread phenomena that those who do bear their weight are having to constantly prove themselves to everyone even if they are innocent of the accusation.
Often people don't understand that the loudmouthed SJWs are not the same and not in league with the passionate and academic humanities majors, and that the two camps are often at odds. SJWs just politicize the humanities for an agenda, while the actual exemplary ones study out of curiosity, an interest in humanity and all its aspects, and even due to a desire to address actual humanistic issues (such as motivations to join street gangs and immigration) and provide solutions to humanistic problems.
[–]Ice-Berg-Hermit1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Really the exemplary students need to make a massive push back against these SJWs
Even if it means making up social media movement about it and how they’re ruining liberal arts
[–]Helikzhan5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's like that with the left in any area of social life. You know they think they're all so smart and intellectual when outside of their clique it's a big laugh how ignorant they are. Virtually every conservative area where intellectuals reside is just ignored. As if we don't exist!
Personally I blame the university programs and the assholes who run them. Straight pyramid schemes where they blow hot air up the student body ass and basically inflate their ego for a living. They should be called loser fluffers. That's what they really are.

Yeah, not the place to argue my point but I’m a woman in civil engineering. Women here don’t have superiority complexes or pit ourselves against each other for our career preferences. Not sure who you are talking about but SWE advocates for women in engineering and any other major they might want to go into.

Bitches hijacked what was a legitimate complaint from young people with real degrees and skills, having to work 2 jobs due to being paid 1980's wages while paying 2010's bills. All while fatcat Boomers kept snotting about avocado toast and Starbucks being the reason we couldn't afford houses that cost several times our entire pre-tax annual salary, involuntary childlessness, or forgoing such luxuries as dental care.
We're fighting a system run by clones of Scrooge McDuck and a legion of baby-and-boy-hating Barbie dolls with zero knowledge of economics thinks they're even in the same league as us.

We didn't have cell phones back then. The 'net connection bill was $ 0, too, for the most of us.
Ironically, both are more or less used to sell YOU stuff, or sell YOU, and to divide us. Life is good.
[–]Cade_Connelly_130 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Wow, you're an idiot. Yeah we didn't have cell phones, you had sky high prices for whatever level of service the local landline phone provider gave you. Remember counting the minutes from long distance calls to grandma because the prices were so exorbitant?
And as for the Net Connection bill being 0, you're completely incorrect. My parents had to pay seperately for their dial-up service, and they were limited to so many hours per month on top of that.

Indeed. There is a class in Marxist theory called the ‘lumpenproletariat,’ which the Communist Party of the USA defines as
generally unemployable people who make no positive contribution to an economy...may include mentally unstable people. Some activists consider them “most radical” because they are “most exploited,” but they are unorganizable and more likely to act as paid agents than to have any progressive role in class struggle.
Which fits most SJWs to a T. The lumpenproletariat have also generally been understood to include prostitutes and other criminals.
It is actually scary how every Marxist condemnation of the lumpenproletariat reads like a description of the New (post-1968) Left.
[–]CutterPillar15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup. There was a term 'tuneyanets' in Soviet Union. Meaning an unemployed person living as parasite at expense of the society. Entire criminal codex article was devoted for that. Usually, 'tuneyanets' had several warning before being mildly forced into doing some meaningful work. If 'tuneyanets' refused or tried to dodge that, he / she could be arrested and then forced into working as a convict.

They both are real socialism. Idol worship and gulag/kill those that disagree.
[–]PleaseCallMeTomato3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
thats not socialism, thats dictatorship, one is emphasized on making people's life better and another consolidates power in one place, and it can have say its anything on political spectrum, be it Theocracy, Monarchy, Socialist republic, Capitalist republic, Corporate Dominion etc. But in its core it is still a dictatorship. Actual socialism stands against it, and in fact, when the western countries started expanding Human rights due to a fear of Communist uprisings, they became more socialist, because they started to actually care about people. Check your definitions next time please.

Oh no feminists are perfectly easy to understand, they're in fact VERY predictable. In your example, it's just women following the herd with zero consideration for the long term. Gender studies and that bullshit are designed to be no-fails, expensive pieces of paper with zero actual market value behind it.
Once miss pink hair with a septum ring is out on the job market, she's been trained like a dog to hate everything male and her useless degree and debt just fuels her anger.
Since no women in the history of the world will ever face introspection and blame herself, she'll blame who she was trained to hate.
