The article claims that 50% of couples break up during cancer diagnosis, and that in the vast majority of cases, its the man abandoning the woman.

From the article -

Women in the study who were told they had a serious illness were seven times as likely to become separated or divorced as men with similar health problems, according to the report published in the journal Cancer. When the men became ill, only 3 percent experienced the end of a marriage, but among women, about 21 percent ended up separated or divorced.

(Btw, that math doesnt add up to their claim that 50% of couples break up during a diagnosis, so off the bat you can already be certain that theyre full of shit. But we already knew that.)

This sounds like its either projection or the apex fallacy. Chad certainly isnt sticking around for women with cancer when hes got so many other options. But, Chad isnt usually the guy they marry, and this study is supposedly on marriage. So idk if its apex fallacy.

What do you guys think? Projection, apex fallacy, or both?
