This is going to be pretty straightforward, but something that I nonetheless feel that needs to be put out there just as a general guideline to being more productive.

One assumption we can make is that we as men want to be as productive as possible while eliminating the things that hold us back from our goals. I think that's pretty accurate.

So to increase productivity, we need to decrease the bullshit:

Everything you do in your life must have a purpose towards your goals. If you've made it this far - if you've set goals to improve yourself, you also must have realized that there are things that you do that hold you back from achieving those goals.

We as a people are so tempted to fall off our paths for a number of reasons. These can come in a number of forms, such as video games, addiction, porn, drink too much, spending time with the wrong people, or anything else that takes time away from time that could be spent rallying forward towards what you want.

I think it's safe to assume that with any goal you set, you can start at least step 1 with within 24 hours, no matter what it is. You may be working towards them, but are you really giving 100%? I mean are you REALLY doing all you can?

We as men are purpose driven, but with all of the temptation tossed in front of us in this day in age, it's becoming more and more difficult to stay the course. Parties, women, video games, porn and whatever else I'm missing - these are all things that hold you back - that steal your time and hold you back from achieving 100% of what you're capable of. My point here is that you need to weed out all of the bullshit in your life - the people, the bad habits, and the lack of productivity, and completely devote yourself to your goals. Everything you do should be at least somewhat beneficial to what you're aiming for.

Obviously I'm not saying don't have any fun. What you do with your time is your own choice, but every choice you make is either working towards or against what you're setting out to achieve, which is something that we need to be consciously aware of.

Have you ever met someone in your life who you think "he could really be something great if he set his mind to it". Chances are, someone has thought that about you in your worst days. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you devote yourself 100% to something and don't stray - whether it be working out, learning a subject/skill, or anything you feel is beneficial to your life.

  • Got an addiction? Get rid of it (easier said than done, I know)

  • Do you hang around with people who bring you down? Remove them from your life. You need to be around people who make you a better person.

  • Watch too much porn? Stop. Get a siteblocker

  • Drink/smoke too much? Get a handle on it.

Identify every negative aspect of your life and work to eliminate them so that you can increase productivity immensely.

Lessons learned:

  • You're closer than you think, you just have to work hard and leave all the bullshit behind.

  • Everything you do in your life is either working towards or against what you're trying to achieve.
