Love or hate the iPhone, you should never buy Apple

Reddit View
August 31, 2017

As many of you are aware, a few members and myself have been hard at work this Summer putting together contingency plans for men to have continued access to free communication for themselves, friends, and their tribes.

When we launched this initiative we had no idea how bad censorship on the internet would become. Over the past few years, multiple domains have been shuttered via registrars, facebook and twitter have been on a warpath to silence alternative opinions, and youtube and google have been hard at work censoring anything that goes against the popular narratives.

I have a lot more that I'm going to be saying on this subject over the next few weeks, as well as some big announcements, but I wanted to get this out as soon as possible.

There is no greater threat to men then losing free speech.

There are some very strong forces at work attempting to achieve this goal.

And while every single company seems pretty fucking bad these days, one is standing out for me as we delve into application and web development:

Apple locks their devices to their app store, and Apple is 100% pro-censorship of masculine ideas.

Many stores are going to ban free speech platforms as we move forward. I expect google to do the same in their android play store (both apple and google rejected Gab's app).

But there's a difference. Android can easily sideload APKs with little fanfare. Apple, on the other hand, limits side loading to developers, making the distribution of an iPhone app very difficult to support if the feminist gods at Apple decide we're too politically incorrect for inclusion on the store.

Is it still possible to sideload on an iPhone? Yes, with difficulty*. Is it worthwhile to support the platform? No.

If you are in the market for a new phone, I suggest you avoid any platform that actively tries to stop you from accessing the content that you want.

No doubt, android is going to present us with unique challenges in the coming months/years. But for today we focus on apple. Do not buy Apple.

*Difficulty includes: Jailbreaking your iPhone, paying yearly for a developer account to sideload your own apps, or using an app like Cydia and re-syncing your sideloaded apps once every 7 days for eternity.

Reminder that YouTube is Google.

The lastest and greatest masculine technology is blockchain (bitcoin) and Bitchute. This technology is the future of the internet. Go there, make a channel. Videos are being automatically moved there from YouTube every day.

Furthermore, Google censors and observes all your data on Chrome. I'm not even gonna fuck around here. Opera has been better than Chrome for years. Tab Music controls, On-Click VPN, Norwegian company. There is no reason you shouldn't be using Opera already.

If you value the male-only space, do yourself a favor and separate from these parasitic companies that have fallen behind in the technological bay area bubble.

[–]Rian_Stone19 points20 points  (5 children) | Copy

If you really want to go down that rabbit hole, let me put you at ease, everything you have is monitored and monitized... Everything.

Had a cyber security workshop through my time in the military. One of the speakers is a group thats big brag was they 'monitor 75% of the internet'. Would show up how they catch russian money scammers, islamic recruitment sites, etc. I made a random reddit post on another account once, with their name. I got a call at work the next day to remove.

The only thing that keeps your anonymity in place is your lack of importance in the world.

TOR was a joke, people just monitored all the entry/exit nodes. Even N Korea, who no one could get into, just had all wires coming in and out monitored.

And (I wish it was still here) there was an old AMA, from the first year of the subreddit, one of the guys who deployed monitoring devices told all kinds of shit. They literally had deployed man-in-the-middle appliances to covertly gather traffic from the core level infrastructure of the internet (the 13 or so of them) I've been trying to find it for years, but it was clearly removed.

[–]Luckylancer961 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy

Is dark web monitorable?

[–]Rian_Stone2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

I'm not as useful on that front. IT doesn't have a centralized DNS lookup. I wager it's equivalent to the old BBS in the 80s as far as anonymity.

Besides, chances are things would be monitored outside of it. Drug dealers still need to have product and meet people after all

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

You mean TOR? They nabbed DPR didn't they? People have trouble wrapping their heads around the lengths their government will go to intercept comms. Read up on Operation Ivy Bells and the Corona program. Read up on how they caught the San Bernardino shooters so quickly.

[–]MKSsystem0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

You can only monitor nodes when it comes to tor, so you can stay safe as long as you browse only onion sites and avoid the clearweb

[–]Rian_Stone2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

I've met the guys who do this, I don't trust it, but you do you

As much as I know Opera is hated by most tech enthusiast, reason being they are mining your data.

[–]YiffMeAssange4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

Opera is now a chromium fork. Firefox is the only competitive browser which isn’t WebKit derived.

[–]juliusstreicher0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Isn't Opera just another branch of Google? IIRC, I downloaded it last week, and the first thing that came up was a Google page with a Bing toolbar. IIRC, that is.

I was going to say this as i just watched the bitcoin documentary on netflix, knew about it for years and used but thought it would be interesting to watch, all trpers should be educated on these new innovations as we know how the world works.

[–]cherryCanSuckMyDick1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

You should make a post on here under financial as an introduction to bitcoin. Lay out the concept behind it, how bitcoins are generated, how theyre stored, etc.

[–]1TheLegionnaire001 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Dude, you should check Tor Browser. That's the best shit you can get.

What do yo think of the upcoming build 57 for Firefox?

[–]Disciple_of_Libertas3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy

Firefox is working with George Soros and other left wing group to "combat fake news," Firefox is lost to us I'm afraid.

[–]_patagucci1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

It was lost ever since Mozilla fired Brendan Eich sadly.

You guys would lose your minds if you knew how deep this rabbit hole goes. Become a man who has strong personal networks, and who can handle being doxed.

The blacklist technology for conservative and ever-expanding definition of so-called "alt-right" is already in place, it's just a matter of insulating the people who run it from accountability. For that, they need a democrat in the whitehouse, or deniability.

Google and DNS providers vs. nazi's was just the test run. The consequences weren't serious, and so the next round of should begin soon, right before long weekends to limit the news cycle exposure.

Updated: Prediction correct. DNS registrar takes down gab.ai on sept 1st, end of day first day of long weekend, https://medium.com/@getongab/we-are-at-war-for-a-free-and-open-internet-426629fba4bf

[–]PowerVitamin2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Good heads up. I'll take stock before the weekend.

[–]AlphaGrad2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy

You're all over the place, man. Can you explain it in layman's terms?

[–]RageLionRising2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

TL;DR: Trillion $ Big Data is going to attack conservative speech even more. They will use Democrats or plausibly deniable technology as shields. Make certain you have a network of friends who can support you if you are doxxed.

[–]RageLionRising1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

Even Democrats are getting sick and tired of tech's economic dominance.

[–]10xdada9 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy

Indeed, if it were a sane democrat who was for civil liberties it would be fine. Where T_D gets accused of having a base of nazis (there aren't really enough nazis to elect a mayor, let alone a president) the democratic base really is radicalized.

What the Google and other takedowns have shown with their takedowns is that all you need is the right political pressure to wield all that private infrastructure as a weapon.

Fucking nerds building shit without any sense of how to defend it.

[–]youkickmyd0g0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

This is where I am. I don't really care about doxxing anymore. Have a good employer and personal networks. Redundancy is the key now. Eg. My personal DNS routes to a federated Kubernetes cluster that runs my personal services, running in multiple clouds and on-prem.

[–]FREEDNA67 points68 points  (2 children) | Copy

I worked for an apple store for about 8 months.

Never buy anything apple. Just don't. Save your money.

Get a cheap ass android phone and use it as a phone.. not a validation machine like women do.

[–]Darkistco 1 points1 points [recovered] | Copy

luckily my dad has gets free upgrades at work so they will give them the newest iphone as soon as it comes out, sometimes he doesn't even care lol. He had an old nokia with antenna poking out until they paid for the first iphone that came out, I got a free iphone 4, when the screen got bad enough he got me an iphone 5 (companies throw these away every year by hundreds as they upgrade) at the time, this was like 6 of 7 was out,

and it amazes me at a minimum shit job, people my age all having iphone 7's or something (forget which one were on) and shelling out $500+ absolutely crazy,

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Except of its provided by your employer they have the right to monitor everything, remote lock it, decrypt it and own all the IP you generate on it.

You should think about ditching windows on your pc also then and start using Linux based systems. Join the freedom.

[–]5t3fan05 points6 points  (4 children) | Copy

i recently did a test try of ubuntu with a dual booting on and used it for a week that way.

when i got another annoying "1 hour+restart windows update" i nuked out that microsoft shit for good. No regrets.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy

Good to hear. It’s even a legit career option if you have used it from ground up and know what’s going on in it. Linux admins are not that cheap workforce.

[–]5t3fan02 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

i wanted to switch to motivate/force myself into becoming more tech savy, maybe even learn some very basic coding.

but even if i dont, its still so much cleaner and easier than windows! linuxmasterrace!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

If you care about security then don't use Ubuntu. They're always behind on package updates. Maybe centos or bsd.

[–]5t3fan02 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

im still a supernewbie so for now im good with ubuntu, im not so worried about security anyway... i plan to try other distros in the future when im more savy

[–]youkickmyd0g2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

I've been moving all my old hardware to Ubuntu Mate. Been on linux on and off for 15+ years, from 100%-25% time spent there. Takes time and purpose to figure out, but it's easy enough I was able to do it as a kid before much Internet was available, so I think anyone can. The missing ingredient is ironically the ability to focus on a problem for more than 5 minutes at a time.

[–]AlphaGrad13 points14 points  (1 child) | Copy

Apple: $749,124,000,000

Google: $628,610,000,000

Microsoft: $528,778,000,000

Amazon: $466,471,000,000

Berkshire Hathaway: $418,880,000,000

I consider myself leaning towards moderate right. I am a Constitutionalist. I believe in the lessons of history.

Whenever you see class-based and race-based violence in the streets the true underlying cause is always economics.

The polarized left want to blame "the straight white males!" and the polarized right want to blame "the George Soros globalists!"

In reality, this is something much bigger than "straight white males" and "George Soros globalists". This is a phenomenon bigger than any race or class. Both the left and right are struggling for resources. They blame other groups of humans because of the innate bias in humans to compete against one another. Underpinning all of this political turmoil is something not human.

It's labor automation.

This has happened before. In the 1860s, 1910s, 1930s, and 1960s.

The identity politics we are seeing is a cheap distraction and the most inexpensive way for Appgoogmazonsoft to promote "equality". Identity politics distracts us all from the extreme anti-competition caused by labor automation that grows more sophisticated and intelligent by the day. Both physical and cognitive based automation. We now have self-teaching algorithms on neural networks that can solve problems that humans can't. That's scary, and it's not just a threat to a functioning economy. It's a threat to the human species.

Regarding the economy: I see no other resolution to this other than some form of negative income tax or basic income coupled with cheap, high quality online education. Social security and education can be made more efficient and cheaper than our current systems. Charles Murray, Milton Friedman, and Jordan Peterson all have excellent ideas regarding these matters.

In the 1930s we created social security for the old folks and high schools for the young men who were put out of farm jobs due to industrialization. We're now in a stage where our economy needs to be updated. Trump is taking care of the globalist China and immigration issues. But megacorp automation still needs to be addressed.

We cannot have a situation where Apple and Amazon become the first companies to break $1,000,000,000,000 (that's a trillion) while everyone else is making $25k - $50k. That's not capitalism. That's megacorp societal domination.

We are long overdue an update to our anti-trust laws. The megacorps should be broken up. The economic effects they cause are warping the fabric of our society.

At one trillion dollars these companies start becoming the government. Capable of challenging state power. This is the nightmare stuff that games like "Shadow Run" and "Monopoly" were created for. These megacorps and their Holy Church of Secular Fundamentalism are a threat to every man's liberty and freedom. They hide behind Mickey Mouse ears and rounded-off corners, but it's the same old shit that lead to political breakdown during the Rockefeller era.

Google: Don't be evil.

2nd quarter of 2017: $628,610,000,000. lol

Good comment. What do you think of our ever decreasing supply of rare earth what its effect will be on the world economy? What about the fact that China has cornered the market on it? Or the fact that Afghanis tan and North Korea both have huge supplies of it?

[–]RageLionRising0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

I think if you have the money, you should invest in lithium.

Minerals are the main reason President Trump has decided to stay in Afghanistan. The USA also has access to minerals in Canada so I think we have China matched for the time being.

I work in cybersecurity. My career specialization is in breach investigations, forensics, malware and threat intel.

I will always push and advocate iPhone's to people because they are the most secure devices on the market, for several reasons.

Bash the 'walled garden' of Apple all you want, but it makes the iPhone more secure.

[–]sorry_mommy26 points27 points  (5 children) | Copy

Oh yeah Android is much better, so you can send all of your data to Google (it's actually in their privacy policy that they can use any of your data at any time for any purpose. Really bad.) so they can parse the data of you reading TRP, understand the reasons behind your being here, and turn it into a marketing gimmick to sell you clothes.

OP, better offer an alternative course of action rather than just "don't buy apple". There are alternatives to the two phone OS's out there, they just suck.

[–]HardworkITrust8 points9 points  (4 children) | Copy

If we break it down the most redpill phone is a flip phone. My uncle is loaded and his kids are following in his footsteps and both own flip phones. While driving a fucking Audi. Flip phones don't allow for hours of procrastination.

[–]sorry_mommy7 points8 points  (1 child) | Copy

Yeah, I mean most of what people do with smartphones is a dopamine trip - checking social media, playing games, etc. Having just a simple phone for communication purposes would be most redpill. But come on, it's a multimedia device that connects you to the entire internet, in your pocket. No one here is gonna give that up.

[–]Luckylancer961 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

But i use reddit %99 of time :,(

[–]cherryCanSuckMyDick2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

After a few years of using a smartphone, Id go back to a flip-phone in a heartbeat if it had a decent camera, and it was easier to send texts on.

[–]okycap1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

I keep thinking about moving to a flip phone because I waste so much time with my smartphone... but the smartphone is so useful too. Driving directions, podcasts, bunches of other minorly useful apps.

[–]red_matrix3 points4 points  (4 children) | Copy

Anyone here considering to unplug in a huge way - ditch the smart phone entirely for a flip-phone/dumbphone? I'm not there yet - I no longer use social media (Facebook, etc). I don't really consider Reddit to be social media - it's a forum.

[–]cherryCanSuckMyDick3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

I gradually realized over a few years of having a smartphone that it was addictive, and not even in an enjoyable way. Once I finally got a stable laptop setup that I could trust, pretty much everything worth doing on mobile is better done through a browser. The only app that could conceivably hold me back from going full flip-phone is Snapchat, hopefully itll go shitty soon enough that I wont have any use for it.

[–]GunnarX1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

This is a hell of an idea.

[–]TheWrathofShane0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

I dropped my smartphone ages ago in favor of just a landline. If I need to call someone I can be patient. If I have to wait somewhere in the world that gives me time to take a breath, enjoy the scenery and ponder my thoughts.

My web-surfing, entertainment, communication, ect is in my home. When I am traveling I got my thoughts and the people around me. Its straightforward and simple. If someone needs to get ahold of me they can leave a message on my voicemail or even write me on facebook.

If I need to call 911 there is always someone around to flag down, and how often does that happen?

Its a choice, and its one that saves me 30 dollars minimum a month on phone service.

[–]RPInjectionToTheVein2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Gab's app?

And yah Iphone restrictions give me aids

[–]Huskimbo92 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

So whats the solution ?

[–]youkickmyd0g2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Note: Apple no longer requires developer accounts to run code on device. This is a good opportunity for a side-loaded ecosystem to emerge. Apple can of course change this at whim. The ecosystem could target iOS and Android apps using a transpiled language, so in the event of bad policy there is low friction to migration. ("Test on Device" here).

[–]WhySoRuff3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy

If you want to know just how committed Apple is to censoring dissenting views consider the fact that the Apple CEO, Tim Cook has donated $1 million each to the ADL (anti defamation league) and the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center).

If you're not sure what these organizations represent here are a few facts displaying their absurdity.

ADL Adds “Pepe the Frog” Meme, Used by Anti-Semites White Supremacists and Racists, to Online Hate Symbols Database

ADL is also one of the many organizations working with Youtube to censor "hate speech," "white supremacist propaganda," and other "sensitive" subjects truths.

(Emphasis is my own.)

The SPLC, one of the two organizations explicitly named by Apple, has a habit of calling people extremists and white supremacists with little regard for truth. Anti-radical Muslim activists Ayaan Hirsi Ali (an ex Muslim herself who has suffered female genital mutilation) and Maajid Nawaz (a moderate Muslim reformist who wants to modernize Islam to be more compatible with Western society) were condemned as “anti-Muslim extremists,” alongside a dozen other people who have been critical of radical Islam.
