So guys, recently, I've met an acquaintance who told me that going vegan saved her life from some form of disease that she was suffering from. And not only that, but she also managed to drop a few pounds over the course of her vegan career. I know that going vegan has a lot of benefits, but I've always avoided vegan diet because there is no harm in eating meat, and most importantly vegetables have a lot of carbs and I'm on a ketogenic diet.

I know you're going to hate on me, telling me that they're complex fiber carbs or whatever, but here's the rub: whenever I eat any kind of carbs, I feel fucked. Doesn't matter if it comes from vegetables or any sort of food. Carbs really make me feel like shit and easily make me put on weight just like that.

When I first was introduced to the ketogenic diet and started implemting it, I instantly started feeling better about myself and my body. (Mind you, I'm not promoting keto. Just hear me out). The results were astounding, and I lost weight like a muthafaka. In one month and a half, I legit went from 202 lb (92kg) to 176 lb (80kg). Right?? RIGHT??? I couldn't believe it myself! It fucking worked like a charm, and my diet is probably the most primitive one you'd ever see. It's full carnivorous. Absolutely no vegetables whatsoever. Zero carbs and it worked. I made sure to not eat in caloric suprlus, and it somehow worked. I went from the chubby bitch to the skinny-fat guy that I am and still cutting and going to the gym.

Anyways. My point is, depending on who you are, a.k.a your genetic coding, some diets may work for you, and others may not. And myself and my acquaintance are not the only ones. Here are other more extreme examples.

Meet Mikhalia Peterson, Jordan Peterson's daughter. At the age of 7, she had a severe rheumatoid arthritis and started taking antidepressants for anxiety/depression in grade 5. She slept 17 hours a day and had to rely on other drugs to keep awake. She had skin problems, had some of her joints replaced because of the drugs effects... And the list of her health problems goes on and on. So to get out of this madness, she tried a zero carbs diet which means that she basically eats meat spiced with only salt and drinks water and a few alcoholic beverages. She started feeling better about herself and all of her abovementioned symptoms vanished with the wind and little by little she became drugs-independent and is now leading a healthy lifestyle. Her mind is clearer, she is feeling more energetic, and the rest.

Now, meet richroll. This guy has been your average Joe for a long time but one day he felt tired after climbing a stairs and decided it's time to change. He started doing cardio like a savage and at some point of his athletic career, he was introduced to vegan diet, it's like he was introduced to the key of becoming a superhero. By implementing a vegan diet, he managed to lose 50 pounds and finish the 320-mile super-endurance Ultraman event.

Now for both these cases, they had different outstanding results although they're on two different diets. So the point of this post is to always consider your genetic material. Some of us are designed to be carnivorous, others to be vegan or adapted to any other sort of diets. Diets that work are numberless: keto, paleo, low carb, eating clean, intermittent fasting, no processed food/only whole meals...etc. So what you need to do is to simply try out different diets for a couple of months and see how you feel and whether or not you dropped some weight or not. Make sure to always follow the Golden Rule and eat in a caloric deficit and that's it!
