Last night I was with my LTR going clubbing with two other friends (a girl and a guy).

As we were walking down a road, we walked past a group of 6 guys and one of them smacked my girl's ass.

I didn't even notice until she yelled at him "I HAVE BOYFRIEND YOU FUCKING CUNT" and he said "yeah? What's he gonna do about it?" and I just said "dude, wtf"

We walked away because well, I'm not about to get into a fight against 6 guys. She started crying and I just held her for a while - she was pretty upset.

We had a good night but the 15 minute walk to mine at the end of the night was difficult as she got emotional over the fact that I'm not monogamous with her. Not sure if related to the incident but at home we had lots of sex so it's been diffused.

So what should I do in such situations?

Obviously I can't ignore it but I also can't jump into this kind of fight. Maybe say something like "I think he missed my ass cos he looks like a massive faggot" to her loud enough for him to hear?

So...this is not a classic technique, but it is an option.

If someone disrespects your girl, handle it right then and there by informing them it was disrespectful and keep moving. Do NOT allow the opportunity for them to respond or engage further. You did as well as you could under the circumstances. It’s foolish to physically engage a six on one physical altercation. You will not win.

OK - this where it might get dicey and your immediate response is "Nothing, I'm just letting you know." Continue to separate you and your girl from the danger. Again - It's stupid and dangerous to engage. You are now dealing with mob mentality and there may be weapons involved.

You get points for "defending your girl" and there is no immediate threat to her, you, or anyone else.

What - you strapped? Do you have a legal permit to carry a weapon? Are you completely certain of maximum range/effective range of your weapon? Do you have complete understanding of ballistics, muzzle velocity, and engaging targets in limited visibility under stressful conditions? Are you prepared for the police to secure your weapon, run ballistics and forensic tests to ensure you were justified in using your weapon?

First, you only start shooting once a reasonable person would believe that you’re in danger of grievous bodily harm. Six on one assault is deadly force and this is therefore a severe and extreme circumstance.

Contrary to movies, civilians tagging innocent bystanders in defensive shootings virtually never happens, and if it does, those injuries/deaths are on the attacker, not the defender that hit them, as long as the reasonable person standard was met.

The notion that people carrying defensive firearms have to have FBI HRT levels of training otherwise they will go to jail in any defensive shooting is a myth promulgated by those that hate civilians carrying weapons because they hate weapons in general, not because carrying those weapons is actually hazardous to the public.

As a lawyer I am going to jump in here and saying you guys are making a lot of asinine comments that you really have no idea about.

First, all of this is subjective and depends completely on your states specific laws. There's no such thing as universal laws when it comes to self defense and use of firearms. Generally, just because it's 6 on 1 does not in itself create a reasonable belief that you're in fear for your life. It's totally fact and circumstance specific and would require a much more detailed analysis as to what those 6 guys said and actually did.

I'm also not sure where you got the rule that any deaths are on the attacker from. Did you take that from a tv show? Does your jurisdiction have really favorable self defense laws? Just because someone attacks you generally doesn't mean you can pull out a firearm and start spraying bullets everywhere and then be like "yeah I mean I killed 5 innocent bystanders but the dude made me think he was gonna kill me so it's his fault that I recklessly started shooting everywhere." Maybe some states have much more permissive criminal statutes but self defense doesn't equal a right to recklessly put others at risk. I really hope people don't read your comments and then make a huge life altering mistake because they read something written by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about

You can only ever pull something off like this if you have the presence, physical frame and look of someone who can defend themselves.

If these guys are picking on you or your gf then you look like an easy target. When you try to diffuse the situation in the way described above you will be a) laughed at by everyone involved and b) escalating the situation. This is what is known as a lose/lose situation. You can never really come out of it as a winner, but there are better options than others.

a) "being reasonable" ----> lose respect of all involved, lose most respect from your girlfriend because she thinks you're an idiot and feminine.

b) "honey badger" , turn around, bear fangs and flip out on the guy like a wild motherfucker. Call their bluff and try to make them back down. Let them know you're drunker and crazier that night and most of the time, the guys will just be fucking about and too pussy to actually do anything.

It's a risky strategy though, because they can respond the other way.

Fights go one of three ways: the poser fluffs their feathers and backs down when they are re-challenged, or the fight starts but is broken up by outsiders very quickly, or the fight starts unimpeded.

Depends on what you look like and how scary you are, you may want to go for this option and you could have a decent success rate, but once again, if you're a strong motherfucker guys won't mess with you like this anyway. If you're a weak shit this option will just get you laughed at.

So if you flip the coin and this works, the payoff is amazing, everyone thinks you're a badass motherfucker and your girlfriend will be licking your asshole for the next week.

But if you try this and fail you can end up dead. Or at least seriously fucked up.

However, it's always situation dependent. If you're in a public place or there are people in the vicinity then go ahead and bark louder, the aggressor will never want to start something where trouble can get led back to him.

Or even better, start the fight. Almost every other fight I've been in or seen has ended with the crowd breaking it up, especially between strangers. Bruises and cuts but nothing serious.

You do this and the fight ends in a draw and your friends and girlfriend still think you're a badass.

You do this and the fight ends badly for you and you live, well you're still a badass in the eyes of your girlfriend, she thinks you're stupid but cool anyway, and she loves being protected and fought over.

Buy you also could have a permanently fractured skull and a limp.

So overall, option B is a better option than option A, but still not a great option overall; it's high payout: risk ratio leaves it too unreliable to really attempt, unless you know you have factors in play that will sway the outcome (e.g. the guys are drunk, you've done this before, there are people around, they look like weird pussies, they're gangbangers).

Some men will do the snap calculation weighing up the odds on and commit to an action right away. Others will hesitate and miss the opportunity for most effective action.

But I still think there's a better option, and OP already knows it.

c) Admit Defeat.

In fact, accepting that you lose to these guys and there's no good way of coming out well in this scenario is probably the smartest overall choice. The other two options either end out badly for you or are too risky.

With this method, you just ignore it and walk on like you did. The dudebros don't get their entertainment, your girlfriend thinks less of you. She thinks you're a coward, but she doesn't think you're an idiot.

You will notice her respond to you differently after and you'll get a mental black mark in her book, remember, women want men to be literal brave heroes in shining armor, they all think they should eventually end up with one... but it won't be as bad as if she thinks you're a total mate-guarding pussy who doesn't know how to respond to a challenge, or if you end up with your face caved in.

In fact, not mateguarding is probably the best way to get her guessing... yeah she thinks you're a pussy for not doing anything to protect her , but then she second guesses and wonders if you really care about her enough to protect her at all... (queue your gf asking you for more commitment later).

And hours later on, when you're talking about it, you can very rationally explain to her that those guys were just baiting you into a fight and it would have ended very badly had you done anything and she'd probably prefer it if you kept your pretty face intact.

She's not so stupid she won't understand and accept.

So even though it's not immediate, this line pays off the best, and is more reliably useful.

You don't actually have to press charges to greatly inconvenience them. The arrest alone makes their night miserable plus the cops will look for other reasons to roll them. Cops don't like assholes (despite some of the younger ones being assholes). In some jurisdictions, if it comes to her having to actually press charges, I would agree for an offense like this they've probably already paid the ticket, so to speak, and just drop it.

Take their picture. If you can get a license plate, then it's game on. Cops LOVE that game--find the asshole leaving the scene of an investigation. That's like entertainment on a otherwise boring night filled with drunk drivers and jackasses beating their wives. I have literally said, "let's get this asshole arrested," shortly before pulling over because of a road rage incident. So a story: there was another road rage incident where my memory was clearly different than Legal Cohabiting Female's. So for the record, I'm not big road rage guy; I'm a "road WTF guy." My memory was that I got out of the car and defused the situation, where LCF cursed the shit out of him until I separated them and the situation was over. She has retold the story three times (that I know about) and all three times it goes like this: "Max was about to beat the shit out of this guy and I had to do something about it before he went to jail." Uh, no, but thanks for the cool points. In retrospect, I think it was the fact that I was ice cold and those two were emotional that probably made this impression. I have many times been told how scary I was from her and others when all I did was just stand there--stoic and giving very terse words at most. Don't be a hissy fit bitch and let hamsters do heavy lifting for you when possible.

Now the funny part of this incident. Like I said, I don't remember my pending beatdown on this fucktard, but I do remember LCF and him cursing at each other. When we got back in our car and drove off, I asked her, "so, let me get this straight. He agreed that he was an asshole and you agreed you were a little hasty in calling him an asshole. Is that what just happened?" She replied, "Yup." Ok then.

I usually avoid getting myself in these types of situations as much as possible. Does that mean you don't get to go out at night? Well, it means you need to be sure where you're going, and even then there might be a group of guys that pull this shit.

I remember i was out with a group of mostly girls, and they wanted to go to this place, where i've witnessed people getting beat up and had rocks thrown at me, so yeah i decided i wasn't going and told them why, they said they were going anyway, saying i was making a big deal out of it and the place wasn't so bad.

I can't be sure if it was that very same night, but during that weekend, a guy got stabbed at that place, and later died in the hospital, because of a situation just like you described, a girl got her ass slapped, guy confronts slapper and then gets stabbed. Just like that, a life lost over a slap in the ass.

If you're going to be walking around town at night, either know where you're going or with a larger group of people. And honestly, if i lived in the US, i would always carry a gun with me.

VERY tough situation to be in. I've got a very lengthy mma background, and I wouldn't have done anything more than you: 6-1 you have no chance, period. Unless you have a decent weapon on you (baseball bat for example), and few people are around, your best bet is to do nothing. Countless men have been beaten to a pulp in this situation. If there were lots of people around, I'd rally a crowd and try and fight them (yelling what happened would have a pretty good response in most cities). If it's just you guys, you're fucked either way. All you can do is save face afterwards. There is no scenario where you come up as a winner, and your health is worth more than anything else.

I’d keep walking but tell his friends, “ maybe you should take that guy home. He’s out here sexually assaulting women and he’s probably going to ruin your night.” I’d use the mob mentality against him. His friends will either realize what he’s done and gang up on him, or yell back at you. If they choose to pursue you, keep walking but don’t run. If they pursue, call the cops. Obviously stay in crowded areas that are well lit.

My thought is I would ask the guy in the group to apologize to her (from a distance).

If he disregards it, I'd pull out my phone and fake call 911 out loud to report an assault and say that there are multiple men injured, name the spot, and then it end with "Yes officer, I'll still be here in 10 minutes." Pocket your phone and approach them ready to go while maintaining a good amount of distance.

Either they risk staying and having to interact with the police or they leave. If they ditch, you go back to your girl and say you faked the call. The confidence along with taking action will make her feel like she was defended well.

Every situation is unique but I think showing how they are cowards and how you tricked them would give you points with your girl.

This. We’ve all lost plenty of teeth, they were called baby teeth. Some kids, like this guy (OP), get two sets they need to lose before becoming an adult.

Then we agree more than we disagree. I’ve written posts about the massive risks of a LTR. The only upside, is that which you can’t get elsewhere: your own kids.

As you get older it becomes harder and harder to “love”, especially in a romantic sense. You’re just not fooled by the bullshit anymore. For one, I see that ever since the Pill, women hand out pussy like french fries.

What they don’t hand out, is their womb. That’s the gold standard of a woman’s love: will she conceive, bear, and raise healthy children for you? If she won’t, or can’t, you’re not “winning” (in my opinion).

Your reticence to have kids is understandable. I had it in spades, myself. It was actually when I stopped believing in “love” entirely, that I decided to pursue as much of a “natural” lifestyle as possible. Diet, training, avoiding plastics, pollution, gadgets, etc.

Who was I to challenge Mother Nature, we were given an entire system of our body for one purpose. Who was I, to act smarter than evolution- and proclaim I know better, that I don’t need to use those parts.
