This is golden. A true gem. I'm beginning to think false accusations are the norm. Rape is rare as hell (for women).

Certainly any woman that goes to the media instead of the police is not the victiim of a crime but is using allegations for a power grab or retaliation.

It's no surprise at all that the 'victim' didn't go to the police or deal with law enforcement at any point or any other authority. In order to bring a matter to the police, you might have to answer some difficult questions. Perhaps questions that her hamster wheel wouldn't be spinning fast enough for. If you want the police to do shit about it, you need proof, witnesses, evidence, accurate statements and time for law enforcement to do their job. Nothing so difficult and herculean is required if you simply accuse somebody on social media. The general troglodyte population will believe it all on principle alone and the 'perpetrator' will be ruined. His reputation will be destroyed and he'll suffer financially. All without any of those pesky things like evidence or witnesses or character references or interrogations.

The odd part to me is why you think that the case is weird because the 'victim' went to social media and not police. That's just par for the course anymore in the PoundMeToo Era. They do it and they do it often. She can get all of the attention and sympathy she wants, ruin the life of whatever guy she accuses, and she doesn't have to risk having her story fall apart or suffer consequences for her lies. She can claim she didn't go to the police because she was scared or anxious or nervous and everyone will coddle her. It's a perfect storm. Brought to you by Feminism.

Apart from suing the school your client needs to make sure the girl comes clean and apologizes publicly, including on all the social media sites she used. The damage to a young kid's reputation can be fatal for his career prospects.

Women go to the media first because they will get validation much quicker and with less evidence. Any retraction will be omitted or hidden where nobody reads.

If she files a police report she will be required to submit evidence, and possibly be on the docket for perjury, defamation, filing a false report etc. But of course they are rarely punished for that even when they get caught.

This is insane. A school has plenty of other more subtle ways to ruin a student's scholarship chances. Putting him on detention, denying him recommendation letters, accusing him of plagiarism, doing "random" drug tests which show positive, etc...

As a Police officer I have yet to actually come across an actual incident of rape. 100% of jobs i've attended weren't actually rape. It blows my mind. Even detectives i've spoke to say it only happens 1 in 100 reported times. It is ridiculous.
