You write very interesting stuff. I think you've noticed a similar puzzle that Venkatesh Rao mentions in Gervais Principle, which is how do you actually learn DT / sociopath behavior? He writes it as "why you can't learn to be a sociopath from reading books / wikipedia". Everyone reads the same books on power, negotiation, body language, manipulation, leadership, etc, but most of it is not actionable. You're not going to become an effective sociopath, your not going to develop your own DT playbook just from having access to theory and lessons. And you can't exactly treat your life / career like a sandbox to experiment and internalize DT tactics.

These behaviors are either ones you have intrinsically, develop in childhood, or develop from your through extreme, fracturing experiences. You can't read 48 laws and practice them in real time; you can't download powertalk to your head and speak it fluently in real time. Most people will just make an ass out of themselves if they try to "be more DT" in the workplace.

The ideal end product for me and for most guys I believe is becoming someone who can effortlessly dip into the DT playbook as required, while simultaneously remaining "light-sided" enough to stay happy, experience positive emotion, and have meaningful relationships with people. It's a fantasy - to be a sociopath without having any of the downsides of being a sociopath, and it's obviously something that isn't really attainable.

I think this is where you're destined to create the blueprint. How do you learn to be a sociopath, if theory doesn't do it? How does an average chump learn to execute machiavellian strategies, develop the narcissistic cloud of delusional self-love that the best guys at PU have, and emotionally blunt himself to the point where he can make selfish, logical decisions in real time? What does he need to do to reprogram himself?

Your posts on DTs explore this idea and definitely do a great job of disillusioning newbies who idolize the fantasy of being "DT". And I'm hoping your book - or a future book you write - cracks this conundrum. How do you learn and internalize M, N, and P, and execute common DT strategies in an effective, real-time way?

Congrats on your blog! I enjoy reading your thoughts on Machiavellism. While personally I don't have the internal make-up to ever become Dark Triad, I do realize the need to be a bit more selfish and put myself first, which I dont usually do and so reading your stuff has been quite interesting for me.

I also have a blog of my own and it has helped me focus my thoughts and learn a lot of new stuff in the process.

As for monetization, a lot of guys start their blogs because they want to get money. However that is the wrong way to go about it. If a person's primary motivation for blogging is money, then you are never going to succeed (unless you are some SEO whiz or know some people who can promote your blog). At the beginning you are not going to see any readers and if you don't love the process of blogging itself, then you are going to quit. So you need an internal motivation for it. I have been at it for 2 and a half years now and don't see the amount of traffic anywhere near monetization levels, but I keep plugging at it, since for me the main motivation is internal.

Is your book going to be a 'remastered' and organized "blog in a book" of your blog posts (like The Rational Male book, which I loved, btw) or is this going to be all new stuff in a "normal" book format?
