tl;dr: Stop using social media and go enjoy life in the real world.

Body

Facebook, Twitter, IG & other forms of social media is lying to you. It’s lying to me; it’s lying to you, your friends, family and everyone else. If you do not understand this social media reality, then you are setting yourself up for failure, pain, suffering, and emotional distress.

For a while now, every time I would log into Facebook or browse IG and start scrolling down my news feed, I would get an uneasy feeling. I felt as if my life was not as amazing as the rest of my family and friends.

But it didn’t stop there, I really started to dislike my way of living and as I was seeing all these amazing things every body is doing, and these amazing relationships, and amazing everything… I started to feel like a loser who couldn’t get his life together. I started to feel like I was really missing out on something…

Every time I would log on, people would post these amazing vacation photos, their supposed loving wives & girlfriends and other amazing shit. Well my life didn’t look like that.

And the more I looked and observed, I realized I quickly became depressed.

Now, I’ve got family, friends and my own life but I don’t post what I eat or who I’m with every minute of the day. I like to enjoy my time in the moment. I do not need to share everything with the world. It’s my own private time and I don’t care to share.

Then one day it hit me.

IT’S ALL ABOUT IMAGE

How one perceives themselves in front of others.

Social media makes you feel bad about yourself. It causes depression for many. As you know for women it’s the #1 validation source for anything. One selfie receives more than 100 likes. If she’s feeling bummed out well don’t you worry, she has her white knights on standby for that source of validation. And don’t forget the quotes, got to love the quotes on how she is feeling. “If you can’t handle them at their worst, then you don’t deserve them at their best.” HA

What you see on Facebook, IG and other forms of social media is NOT REALITY. For women, it is though… Because feelz.

Through social media you can craft your own persona of any kind. You can make people think you have X and Y and Z. The options seem limitless.

Here is the fact, the cold heart reality about life.

Everybody has problems, they all have issues, we all suffer from something. But people have jumped to social media to show everybody else that they have their life together. And if you are an outsider looking in, you will set yourself up for not being fulfilled in life.

With social media it’s a never-ending cycle of competition. You now have to compete with everybody. Who has time for that?

What I don’t find surprising is that if you post less or have shitty photos but look great in real life, women on there will not even acknowledge you one bit. You do not exist to them because you are not doing what everyone else is doing. In their eyes, you are a loser. My friend is a master at this shit and has used solely facebook to get laid. He would take about 10 photos, pick the best one, throw in some type of filter and boom, over 200 likes. Girls would be commenting on how great he looked and how he was super sexy. Observing this from the sidelines was just amazing. But here is the thing that the girls do not know about my friend. He has no job, his parents are not happy with him because he didn’t make anything of himself. He suffers from depression, and he takes meds for some health disorder. But of course that image of him is not seen.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, use social media to promote your own business or have it active to keep in contact with relatives far away, but other than that, walk away from it and start enjoying life.
