Alpha and beta are the main categories guys get lumped into. But I have heard other people use terms like omega, gamma, delta, sigma, lambda, etc. to describe men. Sometimes these other categories are the same, sometimes they describe different traits.

It seems to me there are at least 3 (probably 4) factors that come into play

  • SMV (which can probably be divided into 2 separate divisions, genetics vs resources/security)
  • Game awareness
  • Willingness to play the game

An alpha has good genetics, but usually not resources/security (at least women do not expect the alpha to stick around for 20 years and raise the kids, even if he is wealthy). The beta has resources/security but does not have good genetics (good looks).

What is the difference between a game aware and game unaware alpha? A man with a high SMV is still going to get a lot of action even if he is game unaware, but he will be more miserable and get used more than he would if he were game aware.

At the same time a man who is game aware but who has no value to women (no resources/security or good genetics to offer) isn't going to get anywhere no matter how much he learns about game.

What is a game aware beta called?

What are men who are game aware and have a high SMV, but don't want to play? What would you call those guys vs. guys who are low SMV and don't want to play? I get the impression MGTOW has both high and low SMV men in it who have pulled out of the game for differing reasons.

Does anything distinguish a game aware vs game unaware low SMV male? Omega vs Delta? The terms are all over the place outside of alpha and beta.

I've heard Sigma be used to describe a man who has high genetic SMV value, but who has no resources (he intends to commit) or real desire to play the game.

I've used the search function, but people's opinions are all over the place so I want to get some new input on these issues.
