So, just something to spark some ideas for those of you looking for business opportunities or side jobs to earn some extra cash.

Over the past few months, I've been learning to make knives as a hobby. A part of this was learning how to sharpen them...really fucking well. I didn't want to make a knife and send it out with anything less than a razor sharp edge.

I was getting ready to go fishing today and was talking to the owner of the local sporting goods/bait shop and showed him a knife that I'd made and he commented on how sharp it was.

So, starting next week, he's putting up signs in his shop to have customers drop off their knives for sharpening. I'll pick them up, sharpen them, and bring them back. He'll pay me $5/knife.

It'll never be full time money, but it'll add another stream of income that probably will add up to $500 or so per month in exchange for a couple hours a week of my time. It will also give me a constant stream of new potential customers who might buy my custom made knives.

There are all kinds of things that you can learn and provide a valuable service for money. Think outside of the common. Get creative.

What are the most unique things you've done to make some side money?
