Its extremely unlikely that his parents will still be together 14 years from now, but then the joke wouldn't work.

Many things in life can be explained with a sine wave - frequency and amplitude mean different things, but it's that back and forth motion...

The movement of a pendulum is measured with sine functions. same difference

Fun fact: the motion of a pendulum as plotted against time is a sin/cos wave. Any periodic motion can be graphed as a trig function.

I was actually reading a very interesting article by a non-leftist liberal trying to understand why many of his friends were "weird libertarian-conservative" types.. He argues that to a degree, political speech is social signaling, and that people are naturally moving their viewpoints so as to distinguish themselves..

They see stupid things that their parents do, think to themselves "That's retarded, so I'll act differently", and therefore end up having different beliefs. Then they don't do a lot of the quirks or hold the beliefs that their predecessors had or did, they keep on doing a lot of the same ones in other aspects as well (but will never admit to themselves or others that they're similar in those regards), and will adopt a lot of new beliefs that are either naïve, idiotic, or cannot be understood by the younger generation without having the same amount of experience in the same contexts, and who will therefore reject those ideals.
And the cycle goes on, and on.

I love the line about starting a business.
I also like the way the feminist is drawn. Very masculine face. Square and wide. It even has an ass-chin.
