This woman's story does not add up. Watch the video used to convict this poor bastard. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/woman-too-drunk-consent-sex-9023495

She "has some drinks" and then "nothing", "black". Wakes up in a stranger's hotel room, realizes something went down, gets on phone to friends/relatives. Cue hamster overdrive. I must be a victim! I got black out drunk, went to the club in a slutty outfit, and fucked an ugly man in his hotel. In the video, she accepts a drink from the guy's bottle. He is obviously drunk too (chugging straight vodka in a club, no way he's sober). But he has some modicum of wherewithal to get back to the hotel. And she can walk too. He doesn't pick her up or drag her. No one asks her if she's ok, because she is looking and acting like, well, any other drunk club slut with a guy on the way to his hotel room at 2:30am.

The argument for this case turns on consent. The shithead judge found that she wasn't able to consent due to the alcohol. But he magically was. Based on video of her looking obviously drunk. Not unconscious and being dragged, but willingly going with a man to his hotel room. What happened in the hotel room? How do we know the guy didn't pop a viagra, pass out and she fucked him? Because SHE doesn't know for sure that didn't happen. Maybe he got raped?? Sure that's less likely but the point is it's possible.

This is not rape beyond a reasonable doubt. This is taking someone's regret, about their OWN FUCKING ACTIONS, and throwing one of the worst labels/convictions on someone else who was doing what males and females go to the club EXPLICITLY looking to do (get drunk and hook up) every goddamn weekend. This is criminal now, because some moron woman doesn't know her limits and acted out of character (a generous assumption).

Where is her responsibility in this? She chose to get blackout. She blacked herself out before she even met this guy. How is he supposed to know that she would regret it the next day?

If you get fucktardedly hammered, and someone says, hey, you can sleep in my car, and you go and sit in the driver's seat, guess what? DUI. Is the vehicle owner getting charged with DUI? Good luck telling the police you were unable to consent to anything because you Jack Daniel'd yourself. Even if the friend walks you to the damn car and helps you in, sure he's an idiot or even an asshole for letting you be in that situation, but guess what? He's not criminally responsible. YOU consumed the alcohol that lead you into this situation, not your friend. YOU consented to get in the car, or if that doesn't count, you consented to get so drunk that you would do that. Should he be charged with DUI, while you make a victim impact statement about how awful it was to wake up the next day and realize you were in care and control of a vehicle while intoxicated? Nah, you're at fault for getting so drunk that YOU got into the car. Oh wait, but I couldn't consent to it after I sucked down that bottle of Tequila! Therefore I'm not guilty! I was taken advantage of! No, fool. You played yourself. What an utter crock of shit, this irresponsible ditz has destroyed someone's life, because she got drunk and went home with him.

This is personally terrifying because I have got blackout drunk myself and woken up next to naked women who were totally unfamiliar. Any video would show me looking a lot like the man here now convicted of rape was acting, i.e. not falling all over myself etc, because I retain the ability to walk and speak when blacked out. But there's no social pressure on me, unlike this brown girl who is undoubtedly from a conservative family and friend group. If anything I'm praised for it. I don't have to pretend it was this insane horrifying thing that was perpetrated against me, when the truth is I just got too wasted and banged a stranger.

Watch out guys. This verdict is license for women (at least in Canada) to get blackout drunk and go home with you, and if she feels regret or needs to save face socially, it's her option to put you in the same category as a street predator who assaults strangers in the park. WTF.
