Shallowness can be expressed differently. Some men are okay with having sex with whoever is willing to and they don't care about their partner's personality, past, beliefs and even health when it comes to casual sex. I think it's pretty shallow.

Women are just as shallow, women want to have sex with attractive guys like men do. Women just get into relationships with guys less attractive then deprive them of sex saying they "love" them. It's just that guys put importance on sex so they want it in their relationship. I dont see either being any more shallow than the other. Women look down on unattractive men, men maybe have sex with a few unattractive women but most just ignore them. Realistically both just ignore unattractive respective genders.

Yeah, well, men rate above average women as average, so yes, they actually do think they're too good for actually average women, they're just mostly unaware of it. Women who think they're too good are mostly coping with other insecurities or failure to grow as a person (and some women actually just are above average and have somewhat "earned" smug outlook, those exist too).

I would not say that exactly except in that....

Women like to recast their search for a man's resources, status and other 'what will dating\fucking that dude get for me' as some deep and higher level of sophistication than men.

Men have a much, much wider field of attraction in that they find beauty in many different types of girls faces\bodies and looks so what makes the difference for relationships and even dating is what is the girl's actual personality, behavior and other basic who is this person traits.

Men tell me they’re picky all the time. Selectivity is good. It makes the person you pick feel good as long as it’s not reducing someone to a type that has nothing to do with who the person really is (see 500 Days of Summer.)

When people mature they are less like to fall in love with a person just because they are there and have the physical feature they prefer, or because they show interest.

I've mostly observed men making 1-10 ratings of women but ignoring and not even rating most of the women in front of them. Their concept of an average woman or a 5 is probably actually about a 7, then everyone under 4 is almost literally invisible to them.

I don’t know if it’s friend group, but none of my boys have ever listed looks as an important thing. The most important is almost always low maintenance and good conversation. They never really touch on looks. Perhaps this is because men have lower standards, for the reason that they don’t consider the woman holistically, rather they see them as a sexual object. Women however consider more than this, thus seeming as though they are more ‘shallow’ when really they just consider more aspects to a partner than the size of their ass.. duh.

"Average" is subjective.

However, in my opinion, I find most men below average looking.

But pretty or beautiful women -- thanks to makeup and hair stylists and face fillers and fake eyelashes and hair extensions and everything else out there -- are literally a dime a dozen.

So that means there are a lot more attractive women out there than men. You see it ALL THE TIME - pretty women with ugly or below average guys. I see it everywhere I look.
