FSW: In the UK 39% of children in a household with children do not live with their married parents. The ratio of married parents to single parents is 64:36 (slight difference because of cohabiting). Before becoming an adult only 1 in 2 children still lives with both their birth parents.

At age 1, 78%; at age 10, 62% and at age 15, 54% of children still live with both their birth parents. In other words only around one in two children still live with both their birth parents before they even become adults.

Married couple families with children is 4944 - Lone parent families with children is 1781. This is 36%, not including all the women who found a new partner and cohabiting with them / remarried. If you only look at the married couple with children and compare them to the 1-married couple with children it is even 39%.
