Feminism is cured reading basic biology as communism is cured reading basic economy and Human rights.

Important: Am a trans guy!

I 100% agree with the 'only 2 genders' thing. It's all about the body and the brain. There's male and female bodies and brains. You're cis as long as your brain matches your body. If your body happens to be female and your brain male (or the other way around), you are trans. All this other stuff is impossible. There's no 'genderfluid' brains since your brain can't suddenly switch from male to female. If that was possible, I'm pretty sure trans people would be changing their brains instead of body, because then we could keep our body's normal functions. But also the whole idea of 'there's no brain sexes' does not make sense. If that was the case, trans would not be a thing. There would be nothing making us trans. It's not about 'feeling', it's biology. People have studied it and found out the brains of trans people closely matched those of the gender they identify with. So honestly people who argue it isn't biology and brains aren't sexed are the harmful ones.

Buuut this way of thinking isn't allowed in the LGBT community because I'M the transphobic one :) the community has gone to shit and is way too inclusive of everything, and I will be turning my back on it asap

I'm from Europe. I don't get the whole fuss around gender at all.

In my language, every word has its assigned grammatical gender (that's terminus technicus it serves a completely different purpose and has nothing to do with the "gender" everyone is talking about and fighting about). We have three of these. Masculine, Feminine and Neutral. Words like castle or snowman are masculine eventhough you could easily argue it makes no sense. It is just for Declension purposes.

With these conventions taught from young age, the thought of gender separated from sex makes no sense to me. I understand that it might be supposed to be like what bits you have vs how you feel in your head. The problem comes with all the controversy. Why everyone focuses on gender when you already have well defined concept that would solve all the controversy? Why not just say that all state matters are working with sex, e.g. biology and all rules adhere to that?
When you have surgery and transition, your private parts are changed and that is the moment when you (from states point of view) change.

Would you like to explain to me why does it matter so much? Why do people start crusades about such topic?

[–]Severynn994 points5 points  (4 children) | Copy

Well hello fellow European. My language works like that too, slightly.

I honestly can't tell you why people are so aggressive about this. All I know is that if people would just follow the science behind what I explained above, there wouldn't be this many unnecessarily ruined lives. Because just accepting all and assuming these kids are right when they say they're some random gender without scientific backup, will cause these kids to either get hurt or go through changes that are irreversible and not right for them.

Explaining that last bit requires me to go back to what I said in my first comment. To when your brain doesn't match your body. This creates the medical issue called dysphoria. It's a mental illness really. Created by your brain recognizing it's not matched correctly. Dysphoria is hard to explain, so I won't go into that, but just know it's the one thing that's needed to be trans. It's caused by the mismatch, if it wouldn't be there we would have no reason to transition, since that would mean we have no trouble living in this body. But you see, the current view on being trans is that you don't need dysphoria to be trans, which is false, but widely accepted now. And this view causes teens (usually biological girls) who tend to feel bad about their body to think they may be trans and that they can just go through with it, taking hormones and getting surgeries. It doesn't always get to surgeries, but does sometimes get to hormones. Hormones, especially the kind trans guys get (testosterone of course), change many things that will be hard to live with once they realize they made a mistake. Because here's the thing: No dysphoria means no mismatch. No mismatch obviously means they have a brain and body of the same sex, and so once they take hormones, this fact changes. Let's take a biological girl as example. She takes hormones even though she has no dysphoria, and normally matching body and brain. The hormones cause changes to her body, basically making her body a male one. Now, she has a mismatching body and brain. This now creates dysphoria, but changes are there and some won't go away. Life could be ruined here, she could've been normal. This is pretty common, but gets dismissed because no way in hell can you bring up how it can be a harmful or deadly mistake for some to identify as something they're not. Deadly because dysphoria does cause suicides.

The LGBT community doesn't like it if there's anything negative coming from inside. Cause it's a safe place without negativity, yeah? But they fail to see they create a dangerous place for teens who feel bad about themselves and want to do everything to feel better; a very common occurrence. While they're inviting these teens, they're also banishing the people talking about their experience realizing it wasn't right, that they were in the wrong. These stories are important to listen to, they should be thought about when you consider transitioning

That's why it matters so much, because this shit they do destroys lives, ends lives, and it isn't as uncommon as they want you to think. Trans people are supposed to be less than 1% of all people. If you look at the internet, that really isn't the case. Glorifying being trans and downplaying all the risks and ugliness that's included in being trans is dangerous and a common practice

I understand dysphoria. I understand what being trans means. I understand transition and the possible effects.

What I don't understand is all the fuss about trans people who aren't trans. I don't understand why everything ties to the gender. E.g. why do people, who do have dysphoria and are transitioning are so controversial before they get surgery. E.g. when someones gender does not match their sex.
Many people do identify as opposite gender and require everyone to treat them that way while there are many cases where (imo) sex should be what determines the appropriate behavior.

My issue with this is not what happens within the community (all the while as you describe it's not alright, but I feel that this should be intervened on a little bit different level (e.g. transition starting after person matures)), my issue is understanding why general public has such problem with this minority.

[–]Severynn991 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy

Ah my bad, that was a misunderstanding then. It's 3 am so I may just be tired

If I'm understanding you correctly now:

I don't know. Everything about being trans is controversial really. Someone wants to get all the surgeries? 'You're trying to erase all evidence of being trans, why?' Someone doesn't want a specific surgery? 'Wow you don't think that's necessary? Are you really trans?' Someone wants to go stealth (=present as what they identify it, seemingly not being trans)? 'Wow cis bootlicker, you're trans so show that off!' Someone does exactly that and is openly trans? 'Okay clearly you just want attention!'

Having people treat us based on what we identify as is essential, since we're going that route anyway it's gonna be a thing in the future anyway, so no need to beat around the hush. Just get that used to it asap and have it this way the rest of our lives. Why postpone it to when we start hormones/surgeries, honestly? Once we realize we're trans, the dysphoria starts getting worse because we're now aware of it.

With trans people though, our body's sex doesn't necessarily determine our behavior. It's usually our brain. Our body is what determines how people view us, our brain is what determines our behavior. That's usually why we show 'signs' early in life (these signs should not be taken too seriously at least before puberty)

I guess we're just seen as incredibly abnormal. In a way, we are. This is a birth defect, with an attached mental illness that causes suicides in some cases. But really, most of us really just want to not be seen and go through life as a stealth trans person. Many of us wish to be as close to cis as possible. I don't know why this is an issue. It's not our fault we aren't cis. If I could choose between being cis or being trans, obviously I'd be cis. But staying as my biological sex will kill me, and sadly I won't ever be a cis guy. It's not like this is some fetish, it's not like this is some act. So why it's seen as that is beyond my knowledge. I honestly can't blame people for being so unaccepting, there's many mixed info and the loudest group is the incorrect one. You know why? Because usually if we're capable of being stealth, we go stealth. Completely silent, not giving any hint of being trans. So misinformation does get spread around.

I hope I understood and answered at least something, even though I don't really know an exact answer.

Thank you for a reasonable discussion and thank you for your insight. I'll have to give it more thought before being able to discuss more

Can confirm. My high-school has a single-stall washroom bigger than a typical house washroom dedicated to "other" or people "in transition".

Everyone can have the sexuality they want, but i dont consider them genders. There is male and female, i can live with Trans/Diverse too.

Lmao imagine confusing biological sex and gender

[–]nati9931[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Gender is a spectrum between 2 genders... So there are 255 genders (if it's in 8 bit) (This is satire)

[–]LeftyLucario0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

I don’t know if I’m being a brainlet here, but given shit like Klinefelter’s and cases where SRY genes get all funky. Therefore, I think some androgynous label has some merit.

[–]jjusedtobeonice-3 points-2 points  (0 children) | Copy

way too many people confuse sex with gender and it's honestly part of the reason lgbt acceptance is going down

we can't agree on shit

[–]princesspuppy12-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy

Honestly, who would be stupid enough to touch the seagulls beak? Also, I feel like people confuse sex and gender. I however don't believe that there's a million different genders.

Lol if some bitch thought herself so high and mighty to be that disrespectful just because she was retarded I’d probably backgand her every time her mouth opened. Kinda sick of how much room radicals are given. They then become weak single cunt mothers, who only contribute destruction to society.
