This was one of many feminist posters on the wall in my language arts class in seventh grade. I felt like it was staring into my soul.

Pretty much every(boy)one hated her because she was obviously feminist and she didn’t deny it.

They cant even spell right.

Correction: A woman: without her, a man is nothing.

[–]R1NZl3R_YT[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

I think they meant man as in mankind. But this is supposed to be a grammar poster so 🤣

[–]japanese-bo15 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy

a very sexist one tbh

[–]Poseidonram19445 points6 points  (1 child) | Copy

Yeah, but without men, there wouldn’t be any women...

Exactly. But she don’t care!

I guess feminists ain’t grammarers. :)

A woman is nothing. The correct punctuation was a strike-through.

[–]aurum_322 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy

Tear it off.

I was tempted to, but I already had complained to her about it. The result was funny (and stupid): “BuT iTs TrUe!” “Well yes, but it’s the same thing vice-versa” sends me out into hall

In my student housing in university, last year they put some posters for 8th March. Basically, they were "if women have X right, it's because of feminism".

One said "if women can declare in trials, it's because of feminism". Actually, here in Spain, women have equal rights in trials... Not because of feminism. It's because of a falangist woman who spoke to Franco and convinced him of granting those rights to women.

When I told that to the woman who put the poster, that her precious rights didn't come from feminism but from a falangist, her face changed instantly and told me "no, that's not true".

I should have teared the poster off but she would probably have become violent.

I think the bright side to all this institutionalized sexism is that boys will question the validity of the "education" they are receiving.

I just remembered it didn’t have commas on the top text. She must have photoshopped them out. A woman without her man is nothing.

[–]qemist0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

So? it's a good instruction on the value of punctuation. There is nothing feminist about it.

[–]iamraskia-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy

i don't believe this actually means what you think.

this means without woman, man (humanity) is nothing.

the same is true for men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
