He should be suing the fuck out of that company.

[–]BeautysBeast55 points56 points  (1 child) | Copy

Agreed. Unfortunately for companies, it is cheaper to fire you, get sued, and have to hire you back, then it is to NOT fire you, and get sued because you didn't do "enough".

No way I would return to work for any company that fired me for something like this. Sue them and move on. But I get what you are saying. Just shows that the courts have got everything about face. Being fired for an idiotic reason should be much more expensive to a company than someone suing because a guy hugged them on hearing a massive positive decision.

In fact any court should have thrown out any case based on someone hugging like that. Different if he was doing it all the time and only doing it to select people.

The MeToo movement has honestly ruined the chemistry of women and men in the work place. And companies are starting to hire less women because of this toxic movement.

[–]Deathbysugar202085 points86 points  (2 children) | Copy

Companies hiring less women is one thing. The biggest change in workplaces is that men in good positions refrain from interacting and mentoring women much. After all, why risk everything you've built to be ruined by an ungrateful woman who doesn't mean anything to you?

I don't get why they see a compliment or a nice gesture as something harmful. Spoilt western women need something to complain about to feel good about themselves I guess.

We can also talk about the fact that if you upset a woman by doing, or not whatever, like refusing to go out with her she can just drop a rape accusation and destroy your whole life! And then they complain that their life is crap bc of PaTRiArCHy and MeN'S pRIviLeGeS and what not

That’s the best part about all of this. Companies are going back to how things use to be; run by men. I bet productivity is through the roof in these companies.

I think women and men together get the job done better depending on the career field.

[–]UltimaterializerX23 points24 points  (1 child) | Copy

This is why I refuse to interact with women at work anymore. Not worth the risk.

Office culture was toxic enough before #MeToo, i can't imagine what its like anymore 😞

[–]pandolfio12 points13 points  (1 child) | Copy

One of the deeper issue is how public opinion, the media, and gradually the law, considers subjective / after-the-fact and potentially erroneous recollection of past facts by a woman as being evidence.
I can only imagine how many women slept with their bosses in hope of getting a promotion, and then sued for sexual harassment when it turned out they did not get it.

[–]Freeze_Wolf4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy

That’s why you tell them to write a note saying that they give consent, same thing with one night stands so they can’t call it rape if they feel bad about it later. Anyone in the jury with sense will find you not guilty if you use the consent form as evidence

Well its his fault for being dumb enough to do that. Why do some men like shooting themselves in the foot? Why would you wanna fucking hug a women in your office anyways? I dislike hugging or physical contact with anyone in private life. Workspace is a big NO!

[–]Deathbysugar20209 points10 points  (6 children) | Copy

It seems like he hugged someone after securing a contract with their company. I'm not sure though. OP, care to explain?

[–]megaSalamenceXX2 points3 points  (5 children) | Copy

That still doesn't explain it lol. Hugging is a private act and should be done with someone you know properly like your friends or family. Not some stranger secretary in your workplace. That guy was stupid but the the problem here is also that if a woman did that, there won't be any issue. Although i request any sane man to stop making himself vulnerable to attack by doing these stupid things.

You're confusing a full on hug with a half hug, something you may do with an acquaintance. You just come close and pat the other person on her back. You're right though. Limit social interaction with people in your office, especially women. It takes one move to collapse your Jenga tower of achievements.

[–]megaSalamenceXX2 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy

Why do you need physical interaction with anyone in the workspace? OP's friend was stupid but he didn't deserve what he was dished out. Hell at least it was just a job lost in this case, a lot of people haven't been as lucky. A nastier women could have filed for a sexual assault case. Men need to learn that keeping away from stranger women or anyone for that matter is the best way of protecting themselves. If you wanna hug, do it with your friends and family. Why is it so hard to understand?

[–]throwaway423789106 points7 points  (2 children) | Copy

It could just be because it’s a typical gesture of friendship or affection (not just sexual/romantic). When something big is accomplished by a team, it wouldn’t be too unusual for one of them to hug another out of happiness. There are certain times and places for it, but I don’t think the guy would’ve expected to be fired over something as mild as a hug.

[–]megaSalamenceXX6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy

Yeah but we live in a world filled with nasty people. You dont have any way of knowing who is nasty deep down inside even if you know them for years. The best way of protecting yourself from their nastiness is to never allow them to have chance to use that on you. Prevention is better than cure. The sooner the people especially men get this into their head the better. I am a man and i didm't like the way the guy was treated but it was pretty stupid mistake om his part Imo in the post #meToo world.

[–]Deathbysugar20204 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy

Agreed. Good gestures aren't worth it if it means risking everything you care about.

Companies are hiring less women because of this and I could not be happier.

Working with females is the worst. The bitchness... The entitlement, the gossiping, the judgement, the extra drama, the everyone adapts to me but I don't have to adapt to no-one. The snitching... Really, only people who work with females know what that really is.

[–]-kousor10 points11 points  (0 children) | Copy

feminists will say you're sexist but you're not

i've yet to see a man coworker judge and start drama as much as women

[–]toonsdale2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Something very interesting about the drawing.

The first guy is pointing his finger like a gun... The second guy is showing his open palms (a "no weapon" gesture).

Just something that caught my eye.

A hug?

How is that sexual harrassment?

[–]--Deleted101--0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

The thing is, they only find it acceptable in their eyes. Unless you have 4 ferraris, at least 3 lamborghinis and a 2 story mansion by a beach and can give her 75% of your monthly income, you are considered a terrible human being

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
