I'm an Indian too! The stereotype is because India was till very recently underdeveloped, and new access to modern facilities and technology hasn't taught them how to actually use them properly. Also, traditional beliefs coupled with a progressive society has in a way made Indian boys really bad at understanding women. That's why we see so many Indian adolescents simp on women online. But it's great source material for memes, so there's a plus๐Ÿ˜…

This is one of the groups where i can answer this (born and grew up in india) the reason indians have went crazy on social media is due to the fact its the first time 1 bil people have access to it, thanks to jio (yup the same company that made headlines for offering 45 gb of 4g data per month @$4/โ‚ฌ3.5)and auddenly internet was accessible to 'lower middleclass' and 'rural middleclass' of india (prior to this internet was a domain of (a) geeks/nerds (b) IT services located in one of 3 cities (c) rich urbanites) as a result before this internet was accessible (mostly) to the 'well behaving higher classes'.

Now couple this with 200 years of colonial rule and a continuing fixation on fair =beautiful and the allure of a western life/wife. And this stupid concoction led to our current situation, as more people understand and learn the nuiance of online behaviour, this would subside

Also, in a country where conservative beliefs are so strict, there's no hope for romantic relationships when young, unless you're being married off. Your parents will probably disown you, unless they murder you first. The pent up sexual frustration has to go somewhere.

Since they're new to the internet, they don't know that they're not anonymous and anyone can go check their profile. It seems like full freedom when you talk to someone without anyone watching. They don't have an idea of "online etiquette" as a result either.

I don't think these women realise they get constantly praised just because they're young and attractive. They've had it since day 1 so it's the norm for them.

It would be interesting to see if they could lose their youth and beauty for a week and see the difference it makes to their life.

I think afterwards, they would be more than happy to accept the creepy comments etc because the positives far outweigh the negatives when it comes to being a young and attractive woman.

I will just say she knows to milk her conventionally attractive face for all itโ€™s worth and she often has people photograph her in the same frame as her art and it works.

She's a great artist too, there's no debate on that. You really don't need to see her follower count or whatever, there's no need. The point is clear, being a nubile woman automatically makes life easier for you.

As for her using her looks in her posts, she didn't do anything wrong. She needs to make a living, if it takes showing herself off she can do it. It's just unfair that certain people have automatic advantages for something unrelated and out of one's control.

You know what's more likely? Guys were just scrolling rapidly through the sub like always, not stopping to appreciate any of the art pieces. When they saw a woman with the painting, they thought, "Wow, this hot girl can draw video game characters?", and upvoted it.

I say so because the girl has posted paintings in the past too. Paintings without her face never get more than a few hundred upvotes.
