Yes what they have done to Star Wars and the love for the hermetic Jedi is specifically appalling.

It’s sad because Star Trek: Discovery (bottom left) follows the life of Burnham (the woman who’s portrayed), which makes it a thoroughly uninteresting show. There’s no substance to shows that are obviously aimed at empowering women

[–]ulgulanoth10 points11 points  (0 children) | Copy

Not just that but Burnham is the worst Starfleet had to offer, rash, uncompromising, amoral and a bigot (due to her hatred of Klingongs), and yet they wanted us to believe she was the hero of the story. Madness!

[–]Khufu258914 points15 points  (0 children) | Copy

The storyline and the special effects are actually good, but the over sensitivity of Burnham, and of other characters, is annoying as hell and left you wondering how such a chaotic organization can manage to explore anything.

Those are the actors, here's who's responsible:

Discovery: Created by and written by: Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman

Doctor who Season 12: Chris Chibnall

Star wars episodes 7-9: JJ Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan, Rian Johnson

[–]RockmanXX39 points40 points  (9 children) | Copy

PRETTY sure, no one is talking about the actual actors. It says "Strong Female CHARACTERS" not "Actors".

[–]Aauo268819 points20 points  (1 child) | Copy

Male feminists then 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

[–]American_Londoner8 points9 points  (0 children) | Copy

Moving the goalposts then.

I noticed a few digs/ white man bad woman never evil in the Matt smith era of dr who after a wile I just got board of it.

Who’s your favourite dr??

[–]American_Londoner4 points5 points  (4 children) | Copy

Tennant for sure. But Matt smith had some of my favorite storylines. Blink is still one of the best dr who episodes of all time. You?

[–]mrmnemonic72 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy

Tennant was my favourite, but Smith and Capaldi had a few good episodes.

The first episodes I ever saw of New Who were Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead and they remain in my top 5 episodes. Along with Blink :)

[–]American_Londoner1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Oh man silence in the library is still one of the best for sure!

[–]xero-wing1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Tennant all the way. I loved the way how he never wanted to destroy his enemies, even warned them and gave them a chance but if you crossed him Dun Dun Duuurn!!!

[–]TheLeftWillEatItself0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Tennant? What about the original Doctor Whos?

Pertwee or Tom Baker are the best by far.

[–]A_Direwolf5 points6 points  (1 child) | Copy

You forgot head snake Kathleen Kennedy

[–]American_Londoner-3 points-2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Sure. And George Lucas for the prequels. Lots of blame to go around. My point is, this post has three women who had nothing to do with ruining the fandom but playing a character, yet they are the ones castrated for it. Whether you support feminism or not, don’t you see the stupidity in this?

[–]DoubleVector0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

This the Jake Lloyd probablem all over again. We are blaming the puppets because the puppeteers made a mistake.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

As a old fan of doctor who I can agree with this Jodie is destroyed the show

[–]Researcher_Toast6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy

I don’t even know who 2 of these are and still, how the fuck is killing an entire fan base an achievement? It’s kinda as if women playing a male role is shit for a movie especially when they don’t even do it well

[–]TomToms86 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

It’s like maybe you just write for entertainment rather than to push some agenda

[–]Its_Me_again215 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy

Honestly, I’d say Rey wasn’t what killed the new trilogy

[–]MyNameBlank4 points5 points  (3 children) | Copy

I only know Rey

Who are the other 2

[–]Horse-Cock-Harry2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy

Some chick from that failed Star Trek reboot (left) and The Doctor from Doctor who (bottom right)

I was a fan of both shows and they both absolutely decimated them, between their terrible acting and the horrid writing.

Makes me sad because jodie whittaker (The Doctor) is a decent ish actress from what I’ve seen

[–]MyNameBlank0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

The one with Chris Pine?

[–]Horse-Cock-Harry0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

I think so?

I’m pretty high rn I have no clue tbh

[–]GerinX4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

The writers of STD are the worst

[–]HeyItsMeHammy1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

I like how the initials of the show is literally STD

[–]EchoDahrk4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy

I don't know about the other two shows, but doctor who could have been good with a female characters (and the master proved that) if only the writing wasn't centered on hating white men and woman being superior ... And if the actress actually knew the role well and was able to portray it.. jodi (the actress) said that she walked into the show knowing nothing about the doctor which made her suck at being one.

The master worked as a female cuz the actress knew how to portray the character well without having to mention being a woman .. she was a badass in her actions, not her words.

I don't get why they need to make a political statement in a sci-fi show that has nothing to do with what's going on in reality... Like do writers not understand that the fantasy world and the real world are two different things? If it was a drama show talking about these political stuff i would have shrugged it off cuz , yeah it's a show that's supposed to be happening in our world... Not a fictional world!

[–]KindPrecise3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

I reckon James Bond will be killed in the next movie. They will reboot it as 007 and have a female in the lead role.

[–]killingtimeitself3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

*cough* that new doom movie that came out *cough*

[–]hawknose3311 points12 points  (1 child) | Copy

I dont have problems with Ray as a character. I haven't cared about dr.who since high school. And I would really have to get my dad's opinion on star trek

[–]SlavNotDead8 points9 points  (0 children) | Copy

It is hard to have problems with a character where there is no character to begin with

[–]Easternreich2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

So sad they killed doctor who

[–]QS262 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

SJW activate!

[–]chambertlo1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Good. I want a Hollywood and TV to feel it in the wallets.

[–]vasekgamescz1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Stronk whamen

[–]TheBigBoyBench1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

I can’t speak for the other 2 but Dr Who was already dying with Peter Capaldi

[–]bebasw0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

At least he had some great episodes and some great speeches, even if he’s a discount Eccleston, that’s not really bad

[–]bebasw1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Doctor who’s writing is just shit. Both seasons with the current doctor where pandering to the left so much that one of the villans was British trump and the way that they protrade him makes him seem like the hero.

Chibnal should be hung drawn and quartered

[–]RareMercury0 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy

I'm not going to comment on star trek because I haven't seen it but I love bolth star wars and doctor who and I think the female version of the doctor is fine the show is no different then it was before and no part of Rey in star wars has nothing to do with here as a girl she literally just does her part.

[–]bebasw1 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy

Are you saying that the quality in doctor who hasn’t gone down?

You had Capaldi with a unique take on the doctor and then you have generic quirky “I’m so random now laugh at my sexism” Jodie. She even said that she had no idea what the doctor wold be, the CGI is now off, they ruined 56 years of canon and then the Jadoon backstory, the characters make stupid decisions every five seconds and Grahm is the only interesting character. If you want I could tear down every single episode in the last two seasons and how the best one to watch is a rip-off of the postman’s pat movie, and the doctor kills a man in that episode for no reason, adding to the previous charge of animal cruelty for torturing the giant spider without taking it out of its misery

[–]RareMercury0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

Well I actually enjoyed the first season and liked Jodie a lot and honestly the problem isn't female roles its people's view on them. star wars has always had strong female roles. Same with doctor who they are just switching it up and pushing those characters forward and it doesn't damage the universe there in at all and, if you have watched doctor who from the reboot you know that every doctor has a take that changes the doctors character that's what makes doctor who so cool. So of course the first time the doctor becomes a woman there going to play to the feminist side or sexism side that's part of being a women who travels back in time also they dont play on that a tone they definitely play on that when she is a witch finder but that's do to historical accuracy.

[–]bebasw0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

I never said anything about the actress, I said that everyone’s acting is worse and I personally hate the writing. Also I’ve been watching doctor who from the classic era so yeah, everybody is different

[–]thegraveyardcat0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

As for Star Wars the numbers seem to says otherwise... don’t even know what the other two aren

[–]MegaMindxXx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Star Trek and Dr. Who. The final Star Wars movie was killed by critics.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
