These people are on a level of 1+1=3, I'm noticing a common trend where "feminists" and SJWs turn non-issues into issues. What you said is completely legit (infact you're more likely to be raped by a friend/family member in a setting where you're comfortable) her response is really weird tbh

WHAT?! You imbecile we should definetly walk alone at 3am in the middle of a known gang infested alleyway where mobbings happen 2 out of 3 days!

They should know better than to touch! I refuse to use a safer route with people!

I did this thing exactly. I was beaten up. Yes, it's partly my fault and I admit it 😂

English is not my first language so someone please tell me if I worded it wrong. It's incredible how you type one thing and they seem to read something different

I think your fine. You just disagreed with her and she didnt like that. You are saying she needs to take personal responsibility for her well being and she didnt like that. Men are more likely to be victims of violent crime. But you're right that everybody should take precautions.

Yeah. In my third world fantasy world, I was almost beaten to death twice

Also, its "Robbed" instead of "Robed". I would imagine getting robed as someone throwing a robe on you. Or, a flasher in a robe.

Ow. Sorry about that. Luckily, I wasn't taking an offensive approach. Otherwise, I'd be a laughing stock 😅

Haha no worries. Other than that, it's very legible.

Hahahaha imagine you are walking down the road and someone points a glock and goes

throws a robe over you and disappears

Help! Ive been robed!

Ive been beaten up too. I think that is a part of men's experience that women have no conception of. Getting beaten up. Men are way more likely to experience crime on the streets.

Lmao she pulled the sexist card. I love it when feminists do that. If you can't beat 'em, accuse them of being a sexist.

Lol. One time I had a discussion with a feminist, she was using personal attacks while I was using logic. Guess what, when she had nothing left, she said I was heckling her. Victim card, activate!

When they accuse me of being a misogynist I just tell them I don't hate women, I hate feminists. :)

Its common sense for everyone to be wary of their surroundings when walking alone at night. It is equally bad for a man to get robbed at gunpoint and in reverse. Your gender doesnt mean you cant impart a modicum of logic to protect yourself.

[–]ShadowWitcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Exactly. I was actually almost beaten to death twice because I walked the streets alone at night. Just because we're men, doesn't mean we're safe

You are correct. Rape is wrongly thought of as a gendered issue. Men can be raped too, and in fact, often are. I used to work as freelance ghostwriter and I helped write memoirs for a number of men who had been the victim of rape. And women too. It's an issue that affects humans, not women.

Men have the added issue of stigma when it comes to rape. It was heartbreaking hearing the stories of men who tried to report and were laughed at/given side-eye.

If we consider the fact that more men are incarcerated (and rape is likely to occur in prisons-for both genders) then the numbers of male and female rape victims are probably comparable.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
