We Are Equal Unless The Boat Is Sinking

Without a doubt, the Birkenhead Drill represents female (and child) privilege.

I take some encouragement from the case of the Costa Concordia disaster, where men abandoned ship without regard for women (and perhaps pushed them aside to get out.)
This might just have something to do with Italy; civilized and western, but in fact a low-trust society. I doubt it.
