True as f. Full Asians don't believe in cultural appropriation. They enjoy other cultures and they enjoy when people enjoy their culture. Same with us, full Mexicans. We love to see gringos coming to Mexico and dress like charros and eat enchiladas, chiles rellenos, mole and tequila and trying to learn spanish words.

The only nuts and salty are the SJW from first world countries and Mexican-Americans and Asian-Americans who don't actually know anything about their ancestors culture.

Nothing more disgusting than a Mexican-American who doesn't wants speak or learn Spanish, only travels to Cabos or Cancun and can't heat up tortillas with only him/her bare hands but rages over this nonsense of cultural appropriation shit.

If they want to defend Mexican culture, learn spanish, learn how to make tortillas, tamales and agua de horchata, come to Oaxaca, Veracruz and Puebla, actually know your culture and pass it to your children and grandchildren, you hypocrite fuckers.

By Full Mexicans I mean born, rise and still living in Mexico.

Just one thing... I'm pretty sure Horchata is Spanish.

[–]Silencio003 points4 points  (2 children) | Copy

A lot of Mexican things do not originate from Mexico. We know that. The same happens with every culture. That is why cultural appropriation is a dumb thing.

For example, here in Mexico we are so proud of tacos al pastor, but that dish have it's origin from Shawarma, a middle eastern dish imported by Lebanese immigrants. North Mexico traditional music have it's origin from the bohemian polka.

Mexican culture is a mix of many many origins, native American and European mostly that merge when Mexico was during Spain control known as La Nueva España (New Spain) like the Charrería.

And you will find many many examples like that in every culture. That is the nature of human culture and by creating this nonsense of cultural appropriation we are ruining the possibility of new wonderful cultures to be born.

Yeah, what I was trying to say is that Horchata is not actually Mexican culture. You can go to Spain and drink Horchata. Actually, for what I've heard (I don't like Horchata), the Spanish one is the best one. And if you really need to know, Horchata has its origins in Africa.

Nice. Thanks for the info.

spanish or english at the bare end it's just 2 european langages... same culture, plus lot of US states used to be spanish so being mad to a mexican who goes just more north to live in an old spanish states it's a bit confusing to me... USA and USM are 2 very young federation, of course one went full retard and this other full third world style so it looks drasticaly different whie in fact you are both from the same culture. If the USA stop being retarded and USM get richer you wont see much of a difference anymore...

[–]Silencio000 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy

I have family in the US. I spend a lot of time in Texas and although there is a lot or similarities, the differences are enough. We need to have in mind that only the south of the US and the north of Mexico share similarities. If you go to central and southern Mexico it is very very very different and the same for the north of the US.

Sometimes I believe that if the south of the US and the north of Mexico join in a country it will be very strong nation.

Good thing there's millions of people who don't want that to ever happen though.

When did European culture become homogenized? The French and The Germans and The Spanish and The Italians and The Slavs and the Britons and The Scotts and The Irish and The Welsh and The Prussians and The Sweedes and all the other individual groups are all just one big thing now? I guess Hitler won. He united Europe.

[–]99Flo99[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

oh yea because the Indian culture is not homogenized?? what about the African culture? do you think they are all the same? European culture doesn't mean European federation or something linked with a state or borders...

[–]0dineye1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

No, Indian culture is not homogenized. If I show you a Bollywood film, I guarantee you would notice specifically Indian cultural markers. That's not to say there is a not lot of cultural cross between India and Europe, but that is India 'appropriating' mostly British culture.

Africa is getting very homogenized. It has to due with other nations coming into the area and killing or clearing the native populations. Both the US and China do it for various reasons, some good, some bad. That said, you can see many cultural rebellions in Africa, particularly in the south, so they are actively fight it. Often with violence.

The fact that you are saying "European culture" as opposed to "German culture" or "British culture" proves my point. Because you are right, it's not about state boarders, it's about idea boarders.

In Italy we fight for cultural appropriation against ourselves lol

angry italian noises

[–]0dineye-2 points-1 points  (9 children) | Copy

Ok then, stop using American antibiotics

[–]edo194 points5 points  (7 children) | Copy

Medicine is not culture and antibiotics aren‘t americans. Alexander Fleming invented them he was british

[–]0dineye-1 points0 points  (6 children) | Copy

You are thinking of penicillin which is ONE antibiotic. Thanks for playing

EDIT: Also yes, the development and distribution of medicine is SUPER cultural, particularly here in the US. If you visit a US hospital and then visit hospitals in the rest of the world you'll see how different we handle medicine here.

[–]edo190 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

Yeah but the idea of antibiotics and vaccines are European...go on Wikipedia and you‘ll find out. Also no medicine isn‘t culture at least not the Progress of medecine... by that I mean that you can‘t argue that because a french invented vaccines now it s French Culture ti take vaccines and of course the medical System is going to be different in America than in other places but that com’era more from politica than from Culture

[–]0dineye-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy

Yes, but American vaccines...

... cause autism

dah dun tiss

[–]aroh100876-1 points0 points  (3 children) | Copy

Just so you know, you idiot, the firsts ones that used some form of inoculation were the Chinese back in the 10th century. Then the person that actually pioneered vaccines was Edward Jenner, an English, and then Luis Pasteur, a French.

And no, vaccines and culture are two totally different things. Your ignorance is impressive.

[–]0dineye0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy

You didn't actually address my point though, you just called me names and spewed irrelevant trivia. Try again.

[–]aroh1008760 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

You said vaccines were American culture, and they are neither American nor culture.

And on top of that, many other cultures had some kind of medical practice way before the English arrived to what is today the USA.

What's even worse, what do you mean when you talk about culture in the USA? The USA wasn't even an independent country 250 years ago. And whatever you call culture is a mix of several others because white people are not native to America and on top of that the USA is a mosaic of tens of different cultures. Fuck, English has its origins mostly in French.

[–]0dineye1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Just because you misunderstood what I said, doesn't mean I said that.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Plus, American culture is European culture

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
