99% of times I see a parent screaming at or insulting or hitting their kid in public, it's the mother. I was emotionally abused by my mom but have a great relationship with my dad. I believe that stat.

I also had an abusive biological mother. She would physically and emotionally abuse me, and she had some really abusive boyfriends that would beat her constantly; I would witness that as a 5-6 year old kid. When I was 9 years old, I went out to visit my dad for the summer after school had ended, and told my biological mother that I wanted to stay with my dad. Glad I made that choice, as my dad and my new mom were so much better parents than my biological mother was. Havent seen my biological mother since I was 12 years old, I'm 22 now. I don't mind being distant from her, as there was a lot of fucked up shit that happened to me when I was a kid due to her lack of care for me.
