Its a joke implying that the childs sex doesnt matter for the choice of toys. Basically saying people shouldnt force boys to just play with stereotypical boy toys and the same for girls. I dont see anything wrong with it.

That's stupid. Just let the kids play whay they want. They don't even think about this stupid gender shit. They are just kids with imagination. Never when I was a kid I liked playing with dolls. Or any kind of girly toy. I actually enjoyed playing more with cars. Turns out today I'm just a normal grown up woman. Didn't affect me what so ever.

Aside from the ideology behind it, i don't see anything wrong with the post itself. Any toy can be played by a boy or a girl, except when it's a sex toy. Tho i doubt that if this fits mainstream feminist agenda since they lose their shit when they see girls playing with traditionally girl toys, and they are trying to sexualize the kids so some of them would be quite ok with kids with dildos.

"Should" is completely different than "could". If a boy wants to play with dolls, there's no harm in that, but in case of "should" that means we would be forcing childred to play with certain type of toys.

basically kids don't have a choice in their early years of life. We provide things. We provide clothes and tell boys the skirts aren't meant for them and it is for girls. In the same way, should we be telling boys that dolls aren't for them?

I don't see a reason to tell boys that dolls aren't for them. As long as a toy can provide positive development or at least don't cause negative effects on the kid, i'm fine with it.

And the skirt issue is more of a cultural thing. Scotts wear kilts, which are practically skirts and there are other cultures where mean wear skirt/dress-like clothing. I think man in general preferred trousers over skirt/dress-like clothing in many regions of the world due to trousers being more practical and usefull in classic work environment, while women preferred dress/skirt over aesthetic reasons.

Nope. Its made specifically for girls. I personally don't want my son playing barbies. I think there has to be a distinction between genders to a certain limit. If I see him playing with one im not gonna go nuts on him or anything. Im just gonna buy something else he likes and tell him that isn't for him in a nice way.

The JOKE is saying that unless something is operated with specific genetalia, young girls and boys should be able to play with whatever toys make them happy. It's not 'ostensibly' giving children sex toys. If you see this and automatically think giving children sex toys, that sounds like a you problem.
