Idk, I feel like the first and maybe second waves of feminism were perfectly valid.

Isn't that what a Women's Rights book in a library would talk about?
[–]AskRedditRepost2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Probably. Subreddits about anything like this (women’s rights, men’s rights, politics, the Donald) generally become huge circle jerks.

It's a snarky jokingly written YouTube comment. Posting a meme doesn't make it a circlejerk.

Definitely agree, although there were a few crazies in the second wave.

1st wave too, the white feather movement was made by feminists of the 1st wave that would bully and shame men for not going to war.

Very good point. I feel like it’s important for people to be aware of stuff like this — it’s never the case that one cause or group is 100% good or 100% evil. There’s always grey.

Yeah, all groups have at least a bit of good or bad

Okay, as a feminist sure, and thanks for understanding, but I do think what people perceive as 3rd wave feminism may not be what they think it is. A lot of it is basically what old-school feminists were always saying, just phrased a little more militantly but I think that’s ok because, damn are we exasperated! Just like people shitting on BLM, which I think is extremely relevant and necessary. It wouldn’t be a thing if our society didn’t force it to be a thing.
