The thing is, women try to copy male traits but do it badly. I don't think women genuinely understand risk taking, loyalty, honor or strength. Their version are:-

Risktaking - risk avoidance and blaming others

Loyalty - no such thing, just temporary superficial networks

Honor - you're kidding, right?

Strength - the closest thing they have is stubbornness. This gets praised so much but its often a stupid or intentionally male-disadvantaging decision.

The celebration, praise and encouragement of which is called "feminism".

I like your outlining the "near enemies" of male virtues found in women. "Near enemies" are things which appear similar, but are profoundly different. Pity is a near enemy of compassion. Desperation is a near enemy of courage. The near enemy of equanimity is indifference. The list goes on and on.

The point here is that usually, rather than male virtues, females normally possess near enemies in stead.

  • Strong, Independent woman is actually conformist
  • Powerful is encouraged, sponsored and protected
  • Loyalty is backing the current in-group
  • Leadership is following the herd
  • Risk taking means getting everyone behind you first, and attacking any second guessers.
  • And of course, Philletto accurately outlines several others.

I like the Near Enemies concept. I can see it everywhere but haven't put a name to it before.

It's actually a Buddhist teaching. If you google it, a lot of Buddhist sites will come up.

Glad you found it helpful!

The argument seems to be that traits aren't gendered. So toxic masculinity exists but so does toxic feminity at the same time. Everyone can be an asshole.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
