I've had a few inquiries as to whether or not RPW can join our challenge. I say, both TRP and RPW are geared towards better ourselves, so why not?

I invite RPW to join us for this challenge:

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/2kls2b/rtheredpill_and_manospherecom_are_proud_to/

I will be offering up a second grand prize for our RPW class.

Good luck!

Stop buying food at school. Pack a lunch and leave the cards at home.

I'm a little late to respond, but this is a great idea. You're gonna save so much money doing this! $5-10 a day adds up very quickly, and you also get more control over your diet by bringing your own lunch.

Keihls!! It's expensive but lasts a long time and it's worth every penny. They give out copious free samples, too.

I'll go for No Sloth November- I fell out of my exercise routine with the excuse of being busier with work and school (but somehow still found time to watch netflix...) and would also like to keep our apartment clean on a daily basis instead of letting things build up.

This is a great motivation tool! I tend to get a little lazy as the weather turns cold and the holidays approach. Right now my goals are primarily weight-oriented. I still have 11 lbs to lose by Christmas (one of my gifts to my husband is going to be a slimmer-than-ever wife!) and I need to seriously step up my exercising from just walking to something a bit more strenuous.

So, this November I will be exercising every day (no skipping workouts) and not going over my calorie goals even once (no added sugar--sweets are my biggest vice).

I just came to check if we're on it too. :) Pleased we are.

Provisionally my three are:

1: No more time-wasting websites. Which includes some reddit subs (/r/funny) and not others (/r/RedPillWomen). Need to focus on work (got tutoring, translation, essay writing and online tuition now), writing (blog, books) and the home a lot more now that I have more of it.

2: (This one's embarrassing to admit, because I can come across as so polite when I'm talking through text!) No more interrupting and speaking over people. I'm a bright girl. I'm a reasonably well-read girl. As a consequence I'm also opinionated, loud and forget to shut up. I need to work on that.

3: No more letting myself get wound up about things. I need to be more decisive about everything and, where I can't make a decision well or soon enough, to seek and follow advice. Procrastinating decisions only stresses me out and makes me doubt them right up until fruition.

It may change if I think it over, but I'm a big believer in that the first problems to pop into mind are usually the worst or most annoying ones, so it will likely stick.

Don't think of it as "shut up". Think of it as learning to listen too. :) (I'm going to copy your number 3, and I love your blog and think you're pretty)

Finish two books.

Lose 10 pounds.

Finish two books.

In one month? :O

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Already finished one. It was... Meh.

The next is a behemoth. 700 more pages. I'm enjoying it though.

So... Like lent. Interesting idea, but pretty much I'm working on bettering myself all the time. I'm not one of those people who makes new years resolutions than breaks them because my commitment to bettering myself is not geared towards a holiday or time of year.

The idea behind the one-month goal is that it's approximately the amount of time it takes to form a habit.

Everybody develops new and better goals eventually, and everybody starts some time. Why not now?

This is a great idea. My worst vice are too much time watching tv, inconsistency with my workout routine and putting off things until the last minute. I waste a lot of time on time sucking activities. I have to be more disciplined and change can only come from me. Ok I'm already subscribed to r/nonothingnovember. Let me go study for tomorrow's exam then I'll make my 1st post. Later.

  • no alcohol.
  • no sleeping in (unless i have to pull an all nighter for legitimate reasons i guess. however, my body doesn't handle all nighters well so i need to realize when it's time to just stop and rest)
  • no 'productive procrastination'
  • not using my introversion as a crutch. i went to a party a couple of days ago, and it was fun and didn't involve binge drinking.
  • not sure if this counts but i REALLY need to catch up on my statistics class. cutting back on gaming and starting tutoring sessions would help with that.... i'm actually not super active on social media but lately i've been using fb more to keep in touch with some people that have malfunctioning phones or aren't in the same city as i am. if it weren't for that i'd be tempted to delete my account permanently.
  • i don't have money for frivolous shopping, i'm a student with a very limited budget and my only job is a non-paid volunteer position so that should be easy :) but maybe i can try to be even more frugal this month
  • my water intake has been a bit on the low side, looks like i'll need to start tracking it with an app again.
  • no more slacking off when it comes to my physiotherapy exercises even though my joint pain has actually gotten worse this week

edit-grammar

[–]vintagegirlgame0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

When I first saw #NoNothingNovember, I knew my first two would be

1) No Sleeping In

2) No being lazy with my morning routine of squats/yoga/meditation

For my 3rd, I asked my SO what my vices are. At first he couldn't think anything (I've been taking RPW to heart over the past 6 months, score!) and then finally came up with one...

3) No Interrupting

  • i want to get a flat tummy

  • I want to stop myself from getting angry at my boyfriend and provoking him.

  • I want to work on my art.

  • Stop procrastinating. And getting anxious. And being lazy. I really really need to work on this

I don't have a blog, but I'll post at the end about something :)

I'm in. Gad, this will suck. lol

  • No more food with added sugar. I've fallen off the healthy diet bandwagon and my waistline is showing it. I don't like it.

  • 3 workouts per week. Started a new job that was supposed to be "part-time", and am working 40 hours a week anyway, which sucks, but ultimately this is just an excuse. Time to be lifting things.

  • No more backing out on volunteer commitments. Even if I'm tired. Even if the last thing my introverted self wants after a day of customer service is more human contact. This one will be harrrrrrd, but I need to be a woman of my word. If I say I'm gonna be there, I'm gonna be there.

  • Make and stick to a weekly housekeeping plan. I'm the world's worst housekeeper. Nuff said.

A bit late to the party, but starting tomorrow until December 4th...

- No chocolate. I never go more than a couple days without it - cashiers have thought that someone at our house was pregnant because of all the junk food I buy... and at least 90% of my candy intake is chocolate, so this solves two problems at once!

- No sleeping in past 7. It makes me feel crappy, and I'll never go for a jog if it's not early in the morning, so I'm gonna wake up early and jog 4 miles almost daily, like I used to before falling out of the habit (with a rest day or two each week.) No "It's too cold" or "But what if a tiger eats me! Better stay in the soft warm bed" - no excuses!

- No procrastinating. I'm gonna get things done when they need to be, until they're finished, and not wait until the last minute. This means doing getting HW done as soon as it's available, and doing language studies diligently.

May edit this as more ideas come along. Thanks for inviting us to participate, RPS. :)

Very late to the party but never too late to improve.

  • stop swearing. Picked up this bad habit from working in male only company so need to kick this bad habit

  • slacked on workouts. Must get back to eating keto/paleo and working out. Gained 5kgs last month from not eating healthy and not working out.

  • complete my spring cleaning. Really haven't done anything and keep procrastinating.

  • need to get to the dentist but keep chickening out. Time to put on my big girl panties.

  • get back to being more social able. Lately have been really stressed so everything including social skills have gone to the wayside. Need to get back to meeting people and seeing friends and family.

I can tell you that this is mostly geared toward men, who lose their drive in life.

I say, both TRP and RPW are geared towards better ourselves, so why not?

Yes but we are different. A woman will not reap the same benefits from an advice that's geared towards men.

[–]redpillschoolModerator Extraordinaire[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy

You don't have to lose your drive to benefit from discipline.

The goals men are making for themselves are mostly geared towards men, yes. But women can also benefit from making and keeping goals. I'm sure if you get a little creative, you can think of some goals that might benefit you.

Or don't. Nothing forcing you.

[–]morganlane7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy

If there is one area that men and women do not differ, it is that both sexes have everything to gain and nothing to lose by actively practicing self-improvement and awareness.

NoNothingNovember may have originated in the manosphere but I think it's a great idea for RPW as well. I will be participating as I know I have areas that need improvement.

[–]TempestTcup6 points7 points  (6 children) | Copy

If you look at the RPW comments, they are giving up completely different things than the men are. Scanning the TRP comments, I don't see any of the men giving up frivolous shopping, LOL!

[–]deepthrill4 points5 points  (2 children) | Copy

Once this begins and all the entries are in, we should compile a side by side comparison of what us men chose to give up versus what you women chose to give up.

Like "Top 5 things men gave up for #NoNothingNovember" versus "Top 5 things women gave up for #NoNothingNovember".

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy

We can already tell from the posts on the #nonothingnovember sub what the most common man things are

Weed and masturbation.

[–]ILU20 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

You're in charge of that data collection :)

[–]Goldfulgore 1 points1 points [recovered] | Copy

I was under the impression that #NoNothingNovember was specifically geared towards 3 things men do (masturbation, media and weed).

If it's up to the challenger to choose his or her preference of abstinence then the difficulty level depends on the individual.

[–]TempestTcup1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

Well if it's masturbation, media and weed then I'm golden! I don't have to do anything! Sweet!

I mean, I'm on here (media), but I have a job to do, and I'm only on during working hours, usually.

[–]SuperSlavisWifeEndorsed Contributor2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Yes, if we chose the same goals and things to abstain from as the guys, then we'd be able to claim perfection fairly prematurely!

[–]StingrayVC3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

A woman will not reap the same benefits from an advice that's geared towards men.

Of course not, but there will be benefits. And if she is married/has an SO, I am willing to bet that he sees the benefits as well.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
