If you haven't read this, please, do yourself a favor and give it a try. If the book is a bit much (it can be quite a slog if you're not already an Austen fan), the BBC adaptation is high quality and available on Netflix.
There are a wealth of examples of RP truths and role models (and cautionary tales) in Pride and Prejudice. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the following points:
Who are your favourite and least favourite characters?
Who are your favourite and least favourite couples?
What social conventions of the time do you think were beneficial to the happiness of the people?
Which social conventions are you most glad to not deal with in modern life?
What sort of alpha/beta traits do you see in the main male characters?
Which female characters do you find to be the best RPW role models?
Looking forward to hearing people's thoughts! I'll add my own at some time soon.
