I met this girl yesterday at Salsa. Played it really cool while I was there and, thankfully, was one of the better dancers. However, I went for her number too quickly and she gave me a new/fake one.

She's a friend of the wife's instructor, and they, along with some others at the class, we're going out later. I bowed out as I didn't want to tag along all night or spend too much time in a group setting with her.

They added me to a group they have and I saw the girl in it that I'm interested in. Anyway, I texted her and purposely got her name wrong. She corrected me and said "ciao ___". I just said I thought it was someone else and left it at that.

She then text me back and now seems open to talking. I haven't gone overboard, just traded a few texts. She told me what she's up to today (looking for work as she just got here).

I'm interested to know WTF I can do under these circumstances. I've obviously made a massive blunder by approaching her like this (she is young and inexperienced, though).

I would usually just invite girls out for a drink, escalate, back to my place. But that's generally with Tinder sloots or chicks I've met online.

I'm not sure it would be beneficial to ask her out right away. I was thinking of just building a little rapport then messaging her in a few days and asking her out. Basically I don't want to come across too eager and I feel like it would be a good idea to show her I'm not going to blow her phone up if she shows interest.
