There've been quite a few polarizing posts in TRP lately. One that got me thinking quite a bit was about the imbalance in the SMP that gets created when you look at women, stare at them, or just generally notice them.

He makes several different points in the post, but the one that really got me thinking was about whether or not I'm forfeiting something by looking at women or even just acknowledging their existence.

The comments discussed it a little bit, some agree, others disagree, most say to try things and just see what works for you.

I'm no longer in an anger phase after the last year, but I am in what I may call an apathy phase. I feel like if I look at a woman in a communal place, I'm just stoking her ego and nothing more.

I feel like my attention is a form of capital...and if I give it over to her, I'm just spending it frivolously for her to feel a boost.

I may be totally off-base here — I'd like to be challenged to have a different perspective.

I know there's a lot of different perspectives out there, so I'd love to hear more from the community specifically on this one.

Am I better off pretending they don't exist and letting them come to me or work harder for my attention?
