The Death Of The Redpill Scene On Reddit

December 19, 2022

It seems like TRP's presence on reddit has been crushed beyond repair.

Let's start with case study 1: r/asktrp

The subreddit is currently banned, but are you aware of the background? It started when the subreddit shut itself down 1-2 years back. They did this because a few banwaves were going on at the time, so the mods decided to shut the sub down to protest reddit censorship and promote an offsite platform. Get this: to protest possibly getting shut down, they shut themselves down. So they restricted new posts and pinned a link to their alternate site. Later on, the sub got banned by the admins for being "unmoderated." This clearly wasn't about protesting censorship, I think we're all smart enough to see what happened here: the grifters who ran the sub ruined it amid their attempt at forcing users onto their personal platform. That reminds me of a similar situation...

Case study 2: r/theredpill

Theredpill is in a rather good place right now. The sub is quarantined, which means it's banned from google search results and reddit searches, and you can only view it by typing reddit.com/r/theredpill into the URL bar directly. I heard this has to be on a desktop, and with a verified-email account, but I don't know too much about how quarantined subreddits work. The reason they're doing well is because they've somehow managed to dodge every major subreddit banwave in the past few years, and every feminist subreddit including r/TheBluePill has given up on monitoring them. However, does anyone remember the drama from 3 years back when TheRedPill's mods reported that the admins reached out saying they would shut the sub down in some days? TRP's mods responded by promoting an offsite platform. This matter ended when TheRedPill's mods claimed after a week that the admins backtracked and made a mistake. Purplepilldebate had a discussion on it, where some people suggested that the admin screenshot was a lie from TRP's mods made to promote their new platform. Considering what happened to r/asktrp later on, I'm inclined to agree that the whole thing was a scam from TRP's mods.

Case study 3: r/seduction

I'd actually call r/seduction more "redpill-adjacent" that outright redpill, though there was a large redpill population there. This place was thriving with a whopping 700k members, making it the largest running manosphere forum on reddit. Going back to this sub's closing prompted me to write this post. Apparently, they restricted it in fear of getting banned after their sister sub r/askseddit got banned. After a month, they made a post claiming too many people were breaking the rules and people would still be allowed to post as long as they were approved, but as anyone can see, the mods clearly aren't approving ANYONE and the sub is effectively dead. I have to give them credit for not blatantly promoting some offsite platform in the process, but seriously? The "we're shutting ourselves down before the admins get the chance" excuse again?

Case study 4: r/whereareallthegoodmen

I actually have to give this sub a lot of credit. They have a decent and active userbase, and they aren't shut down. The mods feared the admins would ban them, so you know what they did? They created an offsite platform and forced users to post there instead while linking back to take advantage of WAATGM's userbase. Unlike r/seduction and r/asktrp that pulled the whole "we're shutting ourselves down before the admins get the chance" or r/TheRedPill and r/asktrp that blatantly manufactured a crisis to promoted their new platform, the mods of WAATGM were direct about the fact that they wanted to promote their new platform, and were smart enough to do it by maintaining their existing userbase, so props to them!

Honestly, it's just embarrassing to imagine. Getting shut down by the admins legitimately because some journalist or watchdog subreddit calls your content hateful is one thing, but getting shut down by your own users [because surprise surprise: the manosphere has a grifter problem] is humiliating on a whole new level. I know the grifter problem is a fleeting topic as far as this sub's discussions go, but considering how grifters like redpill mods are actively censoring their own communities, and other grifters like Tate and F&F boast about exploiting their users, it's clear the grifter problem deserves more attention. It will kill the manosphere faster than any incarnation of r/TheBluePill ever could.

Nah I feel like red pill is getting exposed because more and more dudes are not getting the results they were promised from red pill.

Red pill promised these guys that working out, grooming, getting your money up, and maintaining “frame” is what will change their dating lives.

But nah, you cant change height or face.

It really is this simple, men joined, tried to Integrate it into their life, failed, then never went again. Those years were TRP was becoming increasingly popular and in it’s prime were the years where the men just started joining, reading, and integrating it into their lives. The success of the TRP subreddit wasn’t necessarily related to the success of the men who took it.

Then years later, after men saved money, went the gym, approached women, etc, they realised it was mostly bullshit and quit. For many men, it simply didn’t work. People on PPD keep asking “Why is this place filled with blackpillers and Incels”, it’s because TRP failed them.

My life followed exactly that layout.

While trp was great in motivating me to lift, be fit. Excel in school, ace my career n job, it didn't do enough to offset how fast dating was becoming shitty for non chads

At least now I'm ok ish looking and make enough money to sugar date girls. Funny, used trp to essentially become a beta bucks lolol.

It died along with anything else that goes against their message. Reddit is a massive circle jerk where you are not allowed to express different ideas, I don’t think they are even pretending to be open anymore

It's time for a replacement for Reddit that isn't a Truth Social right wing circlejerk.

It is simple.

People are not liking truth so they are doing every ways possible to avoid spreading it to the world

I think Grifting problem is due to having anger phase.

I don’t think it’s necessarily dying because its “wrong” but rather because not everyone could/will find success with it. Sort of like how not everyone can become rich, no matter how many books/guides you read, no matter how much of or how little money you have at the start of your “journey”, there will be a sizable population that just can’t/won’t succeed.

TRP is the same, imo. I think it’s message was never for ALL men, how could it be? I think it was to wake certain types of men up to the truth of their personal power/potential.

I don’t love using myself as an example cuz I know how it sounds, but I genuinely believe I am one of those people. My life improved markedly after I discovered TRP because I believe I “interpreted it correctly” and applied certain concepts properly. It’s become clear over the years that not everyone is capable of it.

So I think that, on top of all the active efforts to censor and shut down TRP content, is behind the drop.

What improvement you found and what concept you applied?

Redpill was on the way out, regardless. Any astute person could always tell the redpill was incongruent with reality, but now with the proliferation of dating apps, social media, etc. it's clear even to the smooth brained among us.

Yeah, "game" doesn't work if you ain't got the fundamentals first - either enough looks to attract someone, or enough wealth or status to beta-bux. If you're both ugly in the face AND poor, "game" is a waste of time. Guys like that didn't get the results promised to them, so it's no wonder blackpill stuff is gaining steam.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
