I saw a video similar to this on twitter, and people actually think this is a good analogy to apply to race.
I have lost all faith in humanity.

When the analogy doesn't fit but they try to expand on it anyway. To be more accurate would require both houses to be on fire, just one slightly more so.

This is actually a somewhat decent analogy. Cops in some areas are crazy racist and you would be an idiot to think otherwise. This whole us vs them thinking (which I myself am guilty of more often than not) should not automatically discredit anything that is said by leftists.

This seems to have the same level of contempt as the 'bowl of M&Ms' analogy that comes up whenever people argue against blanket statements.

Except there’s one little problem with this comparison. There are many houses that are on fire but there are a lot of people who are saying that the fire does not need to be put out on some houses because they supposedly have privilege.
Or another way to put it is that some people who get their house is on fire and put setting fire to some of the other houses.

Well saying all lives matter in the US right now ignores the crazy shit happening. If we are talking from a world perspective, yes, all lives matter

No it does not. It does not ignore the fact that a man was murdered by police, it ignores his race. Because that is what actual equality means.
It is an issue of police having too much power while being absolutely incompetent and corrupt.
It has fuck all to do with racism other than BLM people on twitter using the tragedy to promote hatred of white people.

Thanks for phrasing it like that! This actually changed my opinion. I agree with u, and statistics agree with u as well. This isnt an issue eith racism, its an issue with power

Well I’ll be damned. A person on reddit willing to consider different points of view and see the nuance in things.
Massive props to you for that. It seems to be a rare quality.
