Mainstream body positivity was never about actual body positivity, such as being more accepting of disfigured people. It was about trying to convince top men to sleep with fat women.

Its just media bullshit, not every man can look like a greek god, Karen

I feel like getting hate for something in your control and getting hate for something totally put of your control are two very different things. For example, if you are fat and dont have some health condition for why you are fat, then 100% you are to be blamed for being fat.

I would never date a fat woman!!!!
[–]WyreGuts 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
...lol. And feminazis get mad when I'll date a chubby guy but not a woman. I'm gay and they bring fat acceptance into it.

I just had my dermatologist apt pushed back again bc of covid, the soonest the doctor can see me is jan now. I’ve been doing minoxidil topically since March after my first apt before things shut down. My only other alternatives outside of a transplant, which I refuse to do, would be these laser cap stimulation treatment things that are like $800 a session. Shit’s expensive but ik my value will plummet if I go bald this young.

I think feminists would die in my country, where is every second man bold or almost bold (Czech republic- most bald country in the world)
[–]notwantingbiokids 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Honestly i think body positively is a good thing, however its important to have male body positive too .
[–]__tensor__[S] 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
I think body positivity should only be there for things beyond a person's control. Like baldness, vitiligos, scars and other people who are in some way impaired or disfigured. It most certainly should not be for obesity. Ya I do acknowledge that a few people have medical reasons for being obese but if you consider majority, it's possible (not easy) to lose weight.
[–]notwantingbiokids 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
And yes it should be for that as well . But here's where im getting at if a person is happy with their size then we shouldn't try to force our own opinions on them especially if their doctors already said their weight is fine . Because there are some people who look big but their doctors consider to be healthy , then there are some who have eating disorders and are struggling with it . Like my body type is curvy but i had a eating disorder and no one knew .

The average American woman is borderline obese...(170.6 pounds at 5’3.7). In the UK, a chef called Jamie Oliver tried to make school meals healthy, and is known by many as a prick. Western civilisation has an obesity crisis, resulting in excess medical costs, poor mental health, increase in preventable diseases, and many more. Glorifying larger people, and using whales for models is directly harmful to society.

Im not saying obese people ( although some actually have real diseases on why they cant lose weight ) im talking about the avenger person weight , but again we dont always know. Like a real good example is that is me . im about 5'9 around 180 lbs last i checked . But ive struggled with eating disorders ( im 7 years clean) but because im curvy people assumed i was on a diet or working out when i was really starving myself. I know a couple of over weight people who do the same . Thats why its important to not assume.
[–]converter-bot 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
180 lbs is 81.72 kg
[–]notwantingbiokids 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I live in the us.
[–]robo_oof101 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
But people are trying to justify being morbidly obese, its not healthy and they will most likely end up with complications later in life.
[–]notwantingbiokids 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yea i get that , but people have different view on what's healthy and whats obese
[–]robo_oof101 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
But science says otherwise... Once you hit a certain level of fat you are prone to heart attacks and just dying in general that level would most likely be considered obese. It's just not healthy to be obese, period.
Well some would consider me obese and again im 5'9 at 180lbs .
[–]robo_oof101 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
All depends on your body mass index man, bot what others think.
Exactly . And heres the thing i dont comment on any ones weight because it isnt my place .
[–]PastMyBedThyme 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean, I like my girls with a bit of chonk, but not like obese type shit. Gotta keep that under control. Men do it all the time and they say they just as good as a man so do it.

I agree with the post but I would just like to point out one thing. Losing weight is not easy. Celebs can do it pretty well because they have the time and the resources. Not everyone can just like that lose weight...it is a process which is sometimes fast or normal..but sometimes really slow. Not everyone can lose weight easily. Getting straight As is achievable if you put in a lot of work but will everyone be able to get it? Keep in mind that there will be other people who are fat but not really bad or radical feminists. You are basically insulting them. We need to show some sensitivity.

See I understand the fact that getting into shape is difficult and not all fat people are assholes. This post wasnt intended to make fun of or make fat people feel bad about themselves. I'm sorry if it came off that way. This post was only to point out the selective approach of these so called body positive movement supporters. The movement is really not that much of acceptance of being fat but more about convincing other people that being fat is okay and they shouldn't take any measures to counter that. I'm against how the movement is operated not against the idea of it. Again if the post came off as insensitive, I'd like to apologise.
[–]Werwet10 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I completely understand your point of view! And I personally have seen the views of all those feminists! I just wanted to point it out because there will be people who don't know much about this topic and people can share your meme to others and in the process can make people feel bad. There were many other memes posted in this sub which wasn't directly insulting fat people...but this one inclined to that direction a little. I just didn't want everyone to topple into the other side and be hateful for fat people in general.

Yes it is. What resources? Anyone with access to the internet you can research their TDEE, learn to weigh out their food on a standard kitchen scale and calculate calories. Can't calculate it? Don't eat it. Simple. What time and resources? You literally need to do nothing to lose weight except eat at a calorie deficit. That's all. You don't even need to exercise if your sole plan is to lose weight.
Now if you're talking about actually getting and staying fit, that does take effort. Barring legitimate disabilities limiting activity, if it's worth it to someone, they can find the time. But even that doesn't take a considerable amount of time or expense unless your goal is competition bodybuilding. Hell, body weight resistance exercises are a thing, and there's no price tag.
[–]Werwet10 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You're wrong! It doesn't work that way! And...for competition body building...you definitely need to consume whey!
[–]98590864576564 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No. No the fuck you do not. There is nothing magic about whey. Jfc.
Lol! Do you have any idea? Show me one person who even qualified for body building competitions without whey!
