The feminists just argue that women are toxic because of "internalised misogyny" and thus that its the fault of the patriarchy.
[–]GalileosTele 41 points42 points43 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yup. The most important rule of feminist reasoning is that The Patriarchy is the one and only cause of all phenomena.
How to ensure The Patriarchy is never contradicted

Sick and tired of the patriarchy argument. Look, I consider women equal but patriarchy is the natural state of mankind and that is how it will be.

Toxic masculinity doesn't exist... I'll never get tired of saying that
[–]nacho-chonky 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Toxic people and toxic traits exist, to call anything toxic masculinity is to put the blame for anything toxic on masculinity which is untrue, feminists just love saying it because it’s an easy way to justify their rampant sexism towards men
[–]95raccoons 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Toxic masculinity refers to traditional cultural masculine norms that can be harmful to men, women, and society overall; this concept of toxic masculinity does not condemn men or male attributes, but rather emphasizes the harmful effects of conformity to certain traditional masculine ideals. An example of this would be how some men are afraid to cry in front of others because crying isn’t considered “manly.” Pretty much anything deemed as “manly” can be considered toxic only when used to put down other men for not behaving in ways that society has deemed men should.

Hey go Meryl. Nice to see someone of her stature has seen through the lies and is willing to stand up to the feminist bullies.

As true as that may be, she's the same dingbat who gave the rapist Roman Polanski a standing o.
I think we should hold out for a better class of ally.
[–]LadyNivalis 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ya while she’s 100% correct here, she’s not role model material at all.

she's the same dingbat who gave the rapist Roman Polanski a standing o.
A man who atoned for his sins and was forgiven by the person he hurt? I will never understand the hatred of Polanski other then pure misandry.
Which is weird to see on a sub like this and by someone who claims to be a MGTOW.

What is toxic masculinity?
[–]wikipedia_answer_bot 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The concept of toxic masculinity is used in academic and media discussions of masculinity to refer to certain cultural norms that are associated with harm to society and to men themselves. Traditional stereotypes of men as socially dominant, along with related traits such as misogyny and homophobia, can be considered "toxic" due in part to their promotion of violence, including sexual assault and domestic violence.

Thank you bot. Toxic masculinity are expectations we have for men that aren’t really that great. Now, this harms both men and women. A lot of men just grow up and are ‘taught’ to be the strong leader over others (I’d say especially over women) which isn’t great if that isn’t really your kind of personality. Also, I hear a lot of people saying that men don’t get custody of children nearly as often as women an you know why that is? Toxic masculinity. We expect men to be the leaders who go out and provide for the family while the mother stays home. We expect women to look after children. That’s why it’s probably easier for a women to sit in a children’s park than a man, she is thought to be looking after a child but the man is more likely to be thought as a creep. And yes, toxic femininity definitely exists.

There’s a difference between toxic and wholesome masculinity. Look at the movie Tarzan! Both Tarzan and Clayton and big, muscular woman who resemble paragons of masculine behavior- they’re beefcakes, they fight enemies, they express themselves physically, both in terms of social dominance and simply in the way they move and carry themselves. But Tarzans actions come from a longing for his family that respects him, he desires to protect them. Claytons actions come from Rage, Greed and violence when his goals are threatened. When Tarzan came in contact with a different cloture he tried to understand it, not destroy it. He wanted to learn more. Clayton wanted to shout and shoot and destroy. When Clayton tries too shoot Tarzan he says, “be a man”. Tarzan responds with “Not a man like you.”
Toxic femininity/Feminism is, for example, saying:
“I hate men. I refuse to shave and put on makeup, and if you do, your supporting the patriarchy! No woman should EVER cook for her husband!”
“All woman should put on makeup and shave. All woman should cook and clean for their husband, it is their job too! Woman should be traditionally feminine at ALL time!”
Wholesome femininity/Feminism is:
“I do not hate men, for 2 wrongs don’t make a right. I don’t want to shave and put on makeup, because it is my choice not too. But no one, not a men or another woman should tell you what to do. I wouldn’t want too cook for my husband, because I don’t want too. It’s your choice too, though!”
“I love men. I shave and put on makeup because it is my choice too. I want too cook for my husband, and be a house wife. I’ll prefer too be traditionally feminine, but I respect your choice too be more masculine, etc.”
Hope this helped! Feel free to use.

I feel conflicted here. On one hand she is absolutely right. On the other hand it is Meryl Streep, who is a awful person herself and a Harvey Weinstein apologist.
Of course if people could just stop using the word toxic I would love that too.
i understand what youre trying to say. all fine!
