Fruits of Feminism: "It's like working in a bank and makes me happy and confident" (This one is sad)

I’ve always wondered what the effect was on the entire families of people who are naked online. I don’t think being naked itself is wrong, and I am actually a bit in favor of nudism, but sexual nudity is not the same as naturism. Posting photos of you naked is also not the same as “sex work,” so I take issue with the mother’s definition here. We live in an unbelievably selfish time, when it seems like a given to all of us that whatever feels good MUST be right, and no one (even children/parents/best friends) has any right to judge us. Well, fuck that philosophy. That same philosophy would be equally consistent if you wanted to kill your nieghbor and steal all their possessions. This is why it DOES matter what people around you think. It’s not entirely up to you to do whatever you feel like.

I don’t approve of authoritarian regimes dictating to me what is right and wrong, but I DO think we have a right to pick those we love and care about…and a necessary obligation of being cared about is caring in return. When you have a child, you need to care what they think. Your life isn’t just about you anymore. Listen to your kid and care if you’re ruining their life. The idea your child will be treated like shit because their mother is a literal whore is nothing new…That’s been the case for a few millennia now. Romans had similar standards of decency. I’m not being judgmental, I’m being practical. If you don’t have a child or others who will have reason to be injured by your life choices, then sure, go sell your body…It could be pictures or sex or lap dances, whatever. I’m not a prude and I’m not opposed to sexuality. What I am opposed to is the selfish society we have created where only what you feel like matters.

There are many works of modern philosophy considering this question, but real Sapiens and Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari for some good reasons why Modern Liberalism is a selfish philosophy, and why the idea that all that matters in life is how you feel is a fallacy. YOUR FEELINGS are not the number one source of wrong and right in the universe, and that isn’t a religious stance I’m taking; Feelings have NEVER been what humans based their societal and cultural ideas of right and wrong on.

I studied archaeology and worked for the British Museum after graduating college, and one thing I’ve noticed is that we are living in an era that is very different from any era in the past, in that we really believe we have some kind of right to decide what’s wrong and right purely for ourselves, without any outside study or influence. Is this a reasonable philosophical stance?! It’s called “Humanism,” but it’s a very specific modern branch of Humanism that’s called “Liberal Humanism.” I agree with early Humanists like Locke and Rousseau. I disagree strongly with Hobbes and Nietzsche on most things. However, these figures of early Humanism have had their views warped into the Modern Liberal philosophy that nothing is right or wrong except how you personally feel. That philosophy is pure bullshit.

If you want to have a way of thinking that supports pure selfishness, just believe in the ideals of modern Liberal Humanism, and treat even those closest to you like piles of shit if they don’t support even the stupidest and most harmful of your choices. I’ll never stop believing in the concept that harming others is WRONG, and ignoring other people’s concerns, best interests, and beliefs is wrong.

This woman is ruining her child’s life, in an utterly predictable way, and that is just evil. It doesn’t matter that she has some stupid crusade on behalf of sex workers in her head, it still is harming her child. Justifying her actions using her own emotions is wrong. It doesn’t matter if it makes her feel good, when it is making her child feel bad. Who is supposed to judge which is the more important emotion?! Her feeling good is more important than her child feeling bad?!! Why?! On what basis is that true? Is the mere lack of an authority on this matter grounds for anyone doing whatever they want?! I don’t think so.
