I actually despise Ariana Grande. Mostly the fanbase is 14 year olds, her music is generic pop and she doesn't even write it herself. As a Brit I do appreciate her efforts after the Manchester bombings, I'm sure she's a nice person but everything about her music ticks me off.

She spat in donuts at a donut store. Was only sorry she got caught. Most of them arent nice

I’m with you, and I may not be British, but I did at least live in London for a substantial and formative part of my life. I’m generally disgusted by everything that passes for pop music nowadays. It doesn’t have to be “great,” if it could at least be honest and not intentionally pure subversion.

Some do. They tend to be introverted men, whether due to natural inclination or lack of social grace. A woman who approaches them is easier to deal with than the anxious feeling that comes with approaching the woman.

Hypocritical feminazis
[–][deleted] 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I literally dont get what's so "empowering" about putting your body on display. I think its really demeaning towards women that their bodies are the only thing they're worthy of, but unfortunately alot of "feminists" think the opposite.
[–]ChocolateTuxedo 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The only empowerment can understand is society forces us to wear clothes in most situations or we go to jail = The rebellion is the showing or flaunting of naughty bits. There can be more than one rebellion happening at the same time for them.

Women: "Men stare at us and think about sex too much, it's disgusting"
Form fitting yoga pants invented
Women: "Im going to wear these evvvveerrryyywhere!"
[–]Vendedor_de_Caixao 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That 's because you didn't see brazilian feminists, here the music women just make clips showing their bodys, search for Luisa Sonza music clips and then remember is a feminist doing that. One more hypocrisy.
[–]who_said_it_was_mE 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would agree with the label of hypocrisy. I would also like us to ponder a thought. May an alcoholic speak out against the the dangers of alcohol because they know first hand how bad it hurts?
[–]Dispreacher 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hypocrisy is the bread and butter of femininity so feminists being hypocritical is one of the rare occasions when they are consistent.
[–]User-31f64a4e 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Perhaps Islam is right about women?
I don't really favor throwing bags over them so they look like letterboxes - but it certainly would cut way down on that horrible, horrible, really really bad objectification thing.
[–]DevilComeKnockin 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The burka is enforced by older muslim women. Reason dictates that they don't want men their age being drawn in by younger, fitter women. It's all about envy and control.
[–]mehvfp 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Some men will objectify women no matter what they are doing or wearing, but yeah wOmEn CaNt DaNcE oR eLsE iTs ObJeCtIfIcAtIoN. Objectification is what people are doing to them because of what they are doing/wearing/have a fit body.
[–]SsoulBlade 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
From a biological standpoint straight men are geared to find the female body pleasing. We cannot switch it off.
And I'm not talking of catcalling. Just merely men looking at a pretty women in yoga pants for everyday use.
[–]mehvfp 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Women notice attractive men on the street too, where you CHOOSE to go with those thoughts in your mind is on you. Don’t mistake sexual attraction for objectification. Also, don’t reduce yourself to an ape, we’re far evolved beyond that and I think you know how to think for yourself. When you get an urge to pee, do you just give in and wet yourself? No. You wait and release that urge in an appropriate manner later. You are not a slave to evolution psychology.
[–]SsoulBlade 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
True. However, I never said women do not notice attractive men. Men are way more focused on visuals than women. So if we are to use a good example amongst humans, the male sex is the better example. No?
Also, feminists made looking as objectification. Do you disagree?
Don't reduce yourself to an ape.
No one is talking of acting out on impulses in an uncontrolled manner... Did I say so?
[–]ChocolateTuxedo 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The big question: Do women want to be taken serious?
Question part 2: Would the proposal of my first question piss them off?

They want their cake and eat it too.

Might be an unpopular opinion for this subreddit but I believe you should be able to sexualize yourself when it’s appropriate at your own discretion. And that doesn’t mean you should be forced to be sexualized or objectified ever. Beyoncé electing to exploit her sexuality for profit does not at all mean women should be objectified wtf
[–]Heterodynist 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Awesome!!! I fucking say this all the time!!! How can anyone not see the hypocrisy?! It’s dazzling!!!
[+]LightChaos -9 points-8 points-7 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
There is a difference between you choosing to put your body on display and getting catcalled when walking down the street. The former is generally considered acceptable, and the latter should be decried.
[–]IamLoaderBot 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
If that would be the only thing feminists regard as objectifiying women then fine. But they cry about much more than that. For example, you can‘t even have women in movies, tv shows, games or other type of media with revealing clothes and sexually attractive bodies anymore, without feminists going nuts everywhere on social media. Or motorsports aren't allowed to have grid girls anymore because of the stupid feminist cryouts, despite the fact that the grid girls liked to be grid girls, no one forced them obviously. How long until cheerleading will be banned as well? As long as women aren't forced into something, there shouldn't be any problem like there is with catcalling which is justified of course.
[–]crocswithsox46 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Not 100% sure you know what you’re talking about. Catcalling is annoying but I have a lot of female friends (I am also a female) who actually catcall more than any times I’ve been catcalled or have witnessed male friends catcall. Feminists scream about having the doors held for them or having their male date pay for a meal, because somehow that means they’re “not independent enough”. OP is strictly talking about how women want body positivity, not be shamed for being oversexualized, but the people who created the stigma around women being sexual are the exact same women freaking out about getting attention.
[–]Estenar 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Funny tho, I have read that "holding door" or "paying for dinner" is saying "you are less" Haha, yeah, when does being polite and caring for other people became "you are less".
[–]IamLoaderBot 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Tbh I wouldn't mind feminists paying for their side of the meal. Their loss lol. Makes me save money. Also much better than those feminists who cry about sex/gender roles but expect men to pay for everything.
[–]Werwet10 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The complaints of objectifying isn't restricted to catcalling alone. Once you are aware of the other things that is going on...then you would be more clear. One of the complaints of objectification is how a normal man isn't objectified as much as a normal woman. Feminists wanting equality want to change that and don't want any woman objectified so much and these feminists include these singers. But..the hypocrisy is that these singers themselves thrive on objectification...otherwise they would be replaced by more talented but slightly "less marketable" singers. They also do it to gain attention and fans in order to beat the competition. So..with the above point in mind about feminists not wanting objectification of women...infact thrive on objectifying women.

LOL dressing sexy =/= objectification.
Edit: LOL I guess that failed the first time
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Take away the ability to sell sex they got nothing else to offer.
[–]skb239 -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Uhh both women in the pic above sing and they both sing well. So idk what you are taking about.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Cardi b wouldn’t have a career if sex didn’t sell
[–]skb239 -3 points-2 points-1 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Sex selling is not the same as objectification. Embracing your own sexual feelings is different than being treated as an object used solely for sex.
Cardi B doesn’t sell sex, she sells confidence. Sexual confidence. Cardi herself isn’t that attractive but she sells a sexual confidence people like. That’s also why she is popular with other women.
This is a problem because to you sex is about the man, so a woman couldn’t possible dress sexy for herself she is doing for her man. Therefore she must be objectifying herself. If you think a woman saying she enjoys sex and dressing like she is confident in her body is the same as objectifying a woman, you are the problem not the women.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
How come men aren’t doing the same thing? do you see men with their asses half way out on stages ? Do you see men with their balls half way out on advertisements? The problem with feminists is that they don’t admit sexuality gives them leverage and power. They want to flip the script and make men the problem, when they are the ones to leave an exaggerated images of their bodies on everyone’s imagination. You want equality get to work, don’t sell your tits.
[–]skb239 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Are you stupid? Balls arent hot. Dicks aren’t hot. But men do this with other parts of their bodies. Arms abs legs? (All of which have sexual minor implications too)Men do this all the time. Actors starve and dehydrate themselves for days to get their abs.
Men’s ads have become way way more muscular than they have in the past. Big dick rumors are used to generate clout. Kennedy legit got hella women to vote for him BECAUSE he slept around. Men do this all the time you just don’t notice it because it isn’t tailored to you. You only see the women’s side of it.
[–]Greedyfr00b 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You are missing the entire point... He's saying that you can't go on stage and dress like a whore for money and then whine about women being objectified
[–]skb239 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What are you talking about yes you can. So what is she supposed to wear a brown bag? Anything she wears can be called slutty to some extent. What she is wearing has nothing to do with objectification. Your opinion of her is what is doing the objectification. Just because a women wears sexy clothes doesn’t mean she is objectifying herself.
Like at what level of “covering up” is a woman no longer dressing like a whore?
