Don't forget the The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 is as its name suggests. Only women are recognised as possible victims and men as possible perpetrators of domestic violence. This means that there's little to no legal recourse for men who experience domestic violence. AFAIK, there is no commensurate provision for male victims.
