I laugh at this stuff to some degree. "Do you want to be a sales pitch and taken advantage of for profits?" Although it increases awareness, even for sexist things like this where the message comes across as "Let's prop up 50% of the population, the other 50% doesn't matter!" when it's always and only ever done for women. Is the message worth the cost? You're just a dollar value to them in the end.

I'd rather men' issues were taken half as seriously as women' issues in government, non profits, protests, movements... but on a profiteering level as a marketing campaign? Meh.

Male suicide rate is three times higher than women, as example

Their marketers probably understand how carbohydrate addiction / food addiction works in women. I'm guessing that they're afraid women are starting to put down the candy bars and try to get back under 200 pounds again, and this is a way of marketing their diabetes causing product in a way that disguises it as some kind of virtue. Like, the obese women are supposed to think, " I'm doing something good for the world." and that will hopefully be enough to get them to keep shoveling these medical problems into their mouths. It's very similar to labels like "fair trade" and so "ethos" water. They are supposed to distract the consumer from the fact that they are doing something bad, by disguising it as something good

Joke's on them, HErsHEy has 2 "he"s!

So we’re celebrating Micheal Jackson?

The first he likes to watch while the second he is inside... Isn't this a standard porn story? Hershey's is just a porn story.

There is technically a Her in there too.. So it's a foursome, by rights, with both He's being in the respective Her and She.

HER SHE

[–]MangoAway17 11 points12 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Not the point, but honestly “Celebrate Her” makes more sense than “Celebrate She”. I guess the “She” part is more centered though? Still feels kinda dumb. “Celebrate She” sounds so awkward, don’t get why they went out of their way to do this. And also, feminism should be dead at this point, we’ve already achieved equality, or at least close enough to it. We don’t need to practically patronize women by giving them tiny “wins” like this. So I wouldn’t even want a “He” version. Sorry for the mini rant lol😅

Women got their vote in 1920, and people should realize the only reason women don't get higher paying jobs is because those jobs in particular are not jobs women are generally interested in.

No cap, I don’t care about performative activism from corporations. Same with if corporations suddenly had men themed commodities in an alternate reality.

Hershey chocolate and vomit taste similar

[–]ZS_1171[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

You're not wrong. I bought the new Skittles instead.

[–]ZS_1171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

America Mix. Generic flavors, but it's pretty good. Sweet tasting.

Trust me. You don't want to be capitalised over something about your own biology. This whole month is just "Gay Gay Gay" and it's infuriating. They can't just take anything seriously.

"This pride month, step out of the closet and make a youtube short to show your support for pride"

[–]budnugglet 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

These idiots they had "Her" right there but they went with "Celebrate she"

[–]Potato-with-guns 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

hersHE’s, continuity error on your part. Though to think of it I would rather not be associated with child slavery so this is a battle I am willing to lose.

[–]charvey709 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

How the fuck did they not thing of "celebrate Her"? I think I hate the bad marketing more than the message...

[–]Chafrador 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not even mad. They know that men don't need that kind of bullshit to buy their products. They cater to the simple-minded feminists. They also know that if they were doing celebrate "he", the feminists would burn their building down and try to kill the key people of the company.

celebrate masculinity

Are you conflating malehood with masculinity?

[–]ZS_1171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

That would be toxic.

[–]Relativity_Star10538 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

It's women who are on those commercials making orgasm faces when they nom-nom on chocolate. They aren't marketing to men. Let the women keep looking dumb.

[–]ZS_1171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Like they just got the p*ssy pound of the century lol

We're not as fragile, we don't need big corporations to pander to us

[–]AtomicMGTOW 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

This shit is so weird. I see most women walking around, going to work, building and even leading families. Then of course there's a bunch of neurotic lazy exploitative bums living off the system. Women are killing it in school and nursing/medical and teaching and law. This is nuts. Women have 'victimed' themselves to the top and it's never going to stop. Ya know, I at least hope that at some point they realize they are just as gluttonous, greedy, and selfish as the men they complain about are. But they won't. When you see yourself as a victim you can justify anything. Victim status and solipsism are a really bad mix.

Subtle whiteknighting by HErshey's

[–]ZS_1171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not familiar with the term whiteknight

[–]bigez526 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Candy is bad for you anyway. Right near father's day. A if this wasn't planned. Men, love and pray for your enemies. That God may wake some up, and punish the rest of them.

[–]ZS_1171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes

[–]Hairy-Philosophy926 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

this has nothing to do with supporting women and everything to do with increasing profit margins by having women think they support them, its rainbow capitalism.. nothing more, nothing less..

[–]ZS_1171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I went to their theme park last july... the free refills on all fountain drinks was probably better than some parts of the park.

[–]M_Salvatar 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Mate, it's a candy bar on a shelf. Just buy a different brand, and let them Gillette themselves. Their candy tastes like vomit, I prefer Cadbury's (the brand not the confection). Tastes better, and the only games they play is relationship games (which is fine by me).

PS: If you have a house, put a rule that no product aligned with these shits ever enters your door.

[–]ZS_1171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

What did Gillette do? Also, i hear India has a sever case of Misandry.

[–]rainbow_bro_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yorkie did do a "not for women" thing a couple decades ago.

This sort of thing is just for fun.
