For the lazy:

Simple Summary

People use dating sites to look for both long-term and short-term potential partners. Previous research suggests that the presence of a pet may add to women’s perceptions of male attractiveness and dateability. This study sought to understand to what degree, if any, the presence of a cat has on women’s perceptions of men. Women responded to an online survey and rated photos of men alone and men holding cats on measures of masculinity and personality. Men holding cats were viewed as less masculine; more neurotic, agreeable, and open; and less dateable. These results varied slightly depending whether the women self-identified as a “dog person” or a “cat person.” This study suggests that a closer look at the effects of different companion species on perceived masculinity and dateability is warranted.

Thanks! I think it may depends on the size of the dog too. If you put a guy with a Pomeranian puppie beside a guy with a Doberman, both really similar on good looking levels... probably the Doberman owner would have more attention and would look more masculine as well.

Women don't care about almost anything if you are good looking. So a different breed of dog will not make a difference. You just need to accept guys that looks are 80% important and other 20% of traits are considered "to keep you in house".

Indeed

But I thought posing with pets adds "PeRSoNaliTy" and is attractive!!!

Tbh, not even sure I'd call this blackpill, but it's still hilarious how so many things that inceltears and other redditors say end up being exact opposite in reality.

This subreddit is dedicated for incels I see. I've had 3 girlfriends throughout my existence so by the incel true definition, I am not an incel. But I couldn't get 1 girl in my last 3 years to have sex with but me personally I consider myself an incel for the moment. Glad that I took the blackpill and realised that my looks in 2022 are average/below average and this destroyed my chances with finding another woman.

Majority of people on r/IncelTear or r/IncelsInAction are that type of guys who had sex with a girl one time in their life or kissed a girl once and BOOM they start making fun of incels and be "bluepilled". Me, as a dude who's had 3 long lasting relationships, even a one night standup with a girl, still never felt the need to make fun of incels as I knew that life is unfair and I could get into incels shoes without wanting. And look that this happened.

Incels term must be changed from "kissless virgin who wants to have sex but he can't" to literally any men, no matter how many relationships he's had, who is struggling for a while to get a partner but fails.

Also, I like seeing that all incels are seen as school shooters or mysoginistic guys. But absolutely all incels I know never blamed woman or anything for their lack of success but themselves.

Not if you're a POC....

I'm too lazy to read but I already know what to say. It's the Halo Effect even in this case. Trust me, a good looking man even with a cat will be perceived as attractive because that's how we humans are tricked. We associate a good looking physique with good traits. If you are average looking or ugly, you will be perceived as undatable, cringe, momma's boy if you post yourself with cats.

To be honest, there is nothing wrong to have a pet, but when you carry it to your dating life, things get a little strange. It's like you're exposing a confort point or fragility. Some things are meant to be revealed after some point of conversations and few dates. When you show your pet in dating apps is like posting a picture of a family member... People shouldn't expose family members on dating scene. Too private.

If the guy is good looking no woman cares. Stop brainwashing people with the fact that it's something wrong with their behavior and shit like that. Gosh, average looking guys have been put through lots of behavior changes just because some random dude is telling them that they are behaving wrong.

You can desagree and that's fine but I wouldn't post my pets online. And the point of being good looking is right.

But I'm not warning for bad. I hear stories of revengeful dates that the person tried to poison or stole their pets. That's why.

I had my kitten in my tinder profile, I got loads of women hitting me up first cause of him. It didn’t seem to hinder my success, I got over 3000 matches in 6 months. Was dating and sleeping around constantly throughout that.

Men with cats are a green light imo. I have a cat, and I won’t date men who are allergic or don’t like them

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
